Mental Age & the Great Divide......

Hello Gentlemen,

I have a question that I keep running into. I keep finding men that are 38-48 fall into categories of either couch potatos (though they don't admit it) or adrenaline junkies (some admit this)..... Is there something about the 40ish age that divides men into these two groups?

Is is a mindset? A physical energy choice?

And more importantly, how would you advise a female with wisdom beyond her years, but the energy level of a teenager to find the same?

Sometimes I feel like an older race horse that still needs to race (and race my mate), but the horses my age are either grazing the grass 24/7 or jockeying to enter every race for some unknown reason to them

Thanks for any input you venture out :applause:

JourneyCC,

I would Venture that if you were to Investigate Furtheryou will Find that those Couch Potatoes were Couch Potatoes when they were Younger and those Adrenaline Junkies were Adrenaline Junkies when they were Younger.

And those other Men that were just Regular Weekend Jocks either Metamorph into Couch Potatoes or go through a Mid-Life Crisis which turns them into Old Men with a Diamond Stud Earring and a Corvette.

There are of course those Adrenaline Junkies that Eventually Injure themselves and Become Couch Potatoes (they are The Ones you see at The Mall on Sunday afternoon wearing a Boston Red Socks Baseball Cap and Holding their Wifes Purse while She Shops for Shoes).

There are Men your Age that still want to Test their Metal. My Suggestion is to Join CoEd Sports Teams (SoftballSoftballSoftball). Probablythe best Places would be the Military or Police Force. Alsoyou might ConsiderSkyDiving! I DOUBT youll meet very many CPs (Couch Potatoes) there.

WellI hope Ive been helpful and I wish I could staybutIve got to get down to the Airport and see if I can Dodge those Airplanes that are Landing. ManWhat a RUSH! Those Things come in SCREAMING and they Move much Faster than youd Thinkand Those Airport CopsWOW!

Middle age women do not want coach potatos. This

is why many older women like younger men, who

are full of energy/fire.

hahaha, this is gonna be a fun thread

having recently turned 42 let me share what happened,

first,my testosterone dropped, as in my teen's,20's,30's i

was the fiending adrenaline junky You refer too...

literally used to go on 8-10 hour bicycle rides.had a full quiver of bikes for all terrains, conditions.

second thing that happened,my priorities changed.

now i only have one bike, and one project bike.lol, its a trike.

my goodness i still love to ride, but after about 2 hours i feel i am wasting time and should be focusing on other things.

oh and curious? have YOu ever stopped to consider that this "couch potato" is actually just being "there for YOU?"

i kinda envyed those patience, layed back, mellow types when i was younger,as they do have a certain selflessness, contentment about themselves?

oh i almost forgot,EXCITEMENT!!!!!

things i would have found totally boring in my younger years are totally exciting now, like, blogging here and glass work?

who would have thought?

I've considered what you said Peace, and you are right I think we do "mature" and gain different priorities as we age.

That said, I know "You can take the man outta the boy, but you can never take the boy outta the man!" :yay:

A race horse is always a race horse, even while he's grazing

Not sure where that leaves couch potatos?
