The problem is,I've never really liked a guy that was really good looking before,and I don't want him to think I'm just like all the other girls who throw themselves his way...I also don't want him to completely over look me...Anyway,my question is : What do you look for when you have girls tripping over themselves to get to you...do you LIKE that,or do you prefer someone who likes you for your personality,and not just your looks or talent? I mean,I get the idea that if this guy wsn't the worship leadr or in a band,he wouldn't have half as many girls trailing him. Anyhoo,any help would rock! Post Reply

I think we all put too much emphasis on looks and never really look at what's inside a person. If this is the Lord's will, then He will bless it and allow things to happen. I have played in several bands and had lots of women buy me drinks and what not. Although looks are an issue, I like a woman to have smarts, that's a turn on for me. I hope you really just take time and pray about this and other relationships down the road. I have been around and I am so happy I trust Jesus now and not the world. God bless, Jay Post Reply

If you are interested in him, pray for God to shift his heart towards you. Ask your Dad or wise men of the church if they think it would be a good idea for them to encourage him to look your way. Most of all, become the kind of woman in the inside that a godly man would desire. Things NOT to do--flirt, pursue a man, act like the other women who "trail" him. David Post Reply

Posted : 23 Jan, 2009 11:59 PM Wow, this topic came up on the Christian radio station I listen to today, unfortunately I wasn't in my truck to hear it. Sounds like a plot for a John Hughes movie. Let's see, how should this go? Guy's a hunk, is somewhat a celebrity, is surrounded by a bunch of females, yet our heroine wants to land him. Hmmmmm, I know, if you haven't talk to him, go say hi and talk to him. Introduce yourself to him, talk to him about what he does. Show a little interest in him then excuse yourself and leave. Make it no more than 15 mins. If the next time you're in the same place together and he doesn't talk to you make sure he notices you. Go up to him and tell him you wanted to say hi before you had to leave. If he doesn't stop you from leaving at that time I would say go with the flow and leave it in God's hands. If he does stop you and ask the next time you to can talk, then arrange a day, time, and place. Then go with the flow and leave it in God's hands. Whatever happens, show dignity, be a little helpless (maybe a little "clumsy"), and try to say something that will make him laugh (at least smile). Show him someone worthy of respect, let him be your knight in shining armor, and let him know that he can be relaxed around you. Word of caution, don't be disappointed if nothing happens. After all, he has multiple choices and maybe he wasn't the one God thought you should be with. At least you tried. Anyway, in the John Hughes movies, it was always the underdog that got the prize. I tried to get to know the guy.He still didn't seem to be interested. And,not too long after,I met a guy from this site (in person) and he took me out.The only problem is,now that I like him,he seems to be "zoning out"...and I have no idea why,as I sincerely believe he liked me too. I don't know any specifics so I couldn't evaluate whether it's the way you dress, what topic is brought up when conversing, the way you laugh. But I wouldn't put any stock in just one date. Besides, you have to grow in your faith first, you have to mature spiritually so you can be the woman in Proverbs 31. You must first promise yourself to the Lord before wanting to promise yourself to a man. Learn from the women who are your elders. Learn to live on your own before wanting to nest with someone else. The skills will help you run a household and make you a blessing for the one you are to share your life with. Have fun with your friends, there will always be an abundance of guys out there. Plus If you get tied down , what if in say 4 short years, you run into the most wonderful guy God could have put on this earth for you and you're attached to someone you chose in haste? I don't know what God's saying,but I'm going to try harder to listen when I'm readin the Word...please pray if you get the chance,because I'd really like to have someone to be with thie Valentine's,but if that's not His will,then that's fine.
