Coz it generally don't help to know each other better.. But I was wondering why the olden days' first date always use to give movie tickets to date the girl??? :laugh: Post Reply

Posted : 4 Sep, 2011 11:16 AM Well in the "olden days" before the digital world and internet dating sites, yoiu usually have met the person before the first date and have some idea that you might be attracted to her/him. Having not met the person before and being a blind date, it might be awkward to sit through a movie with someone your not clicking with. Dinner and a movie might be a good idea on a second date with someone your comfortable with. Post Reply

Posted : 4 Sep, 2011 12:59 PM dinner is where you get to know eachother more, the movie is to see if you can enjoy eachother's company while being silent. I love movies and enjoy sharing them with others so i guess i'm more of an old fashioned soul :P Post Reply
View Profile History	Movie for the first date... Posted : 4 Sep, 2011 07:52 PM Not even that, but in the 'olden days' you had drive in theatres. A drive in theatre is cool. Stuff is going on, kids are playing on a playground(if the location has one), cars are lined up, there's a sense of group community when you went to or still do go to the drive-in. When people think of theatres now, they think Friday night, lights off, hushing any noise beyond a stifled cough or popcorn munching, and special effects. Nothing is going on and you have to sit *completely* still for the whole move, lest you have the urge to use the restroom mid movie and bother the folks behind you. Totally different atmospheres when you compare the two. In today's day and age, with all the social restrictions we place on each other in the movies I'd hate to bring a girl there for the first date. But if I took her to the dollar drive-in, heck it'd be a fun experience to say the least! Post Reply
