Men being the spritual leader.....

I'm Just curious what happens in a man's mind when he hears women saying, "We want a spiritual leader" because I've heard some pretty hilarious thoughts that run through a couple of guy friends brains when they translate that into reality :goofball:

One said, it means "she wants me to be perfect"

Others have said, "I need to pray more than she does" :prayingm:

Another said, "it means I better get to confession before I answer that!":ROFL:

I ask because I see many men mistakenly think it's some pedistool they have to succeed and climb unto, and are so very far off in left field by what women really mean when we say it.

So come on, make our day gentlemen. Make us laugh (with you of course, never at you  ) and help we females see the meaning behind the look you give us when we say we want to be with a spiritual leader :)

How bout you just TELL us what you mean.

I really don't care what they mean by it, because it's just one more ideal I can never live up to perfectly, and hence, more than enough reason to get rejected.

I'm sorry Cheer Leader Guy that you feel rejected ..... My point exactly is that women don't expect perfect, men expect it, or feel the need to live up to perfect. It seems rather silly to expect perfection here on earth doesn't it? Strive yes, expect, heck no

Being a spiritual leader has nothing to do with perfection. It is simply a man who is truly willing to put all things in his life at the foot of the cross and draw his strength from his creator. To put God first and bring his family, his heart, and everything in his life to God, to lay it all down; and then "lead" his family in the way God would have his family to go.

I mean he has to have stronger faith than me. Like when I feel weak, he will assist me to keep the faith with God. Is not like when I fall then he don't know what to do and both fall together.

Or when I lazy to pray or read bible, he will encourage me along the way but not fall with the weaker ppl like me. :prayingf:

When I hear the phrase "Spiritual leader" I feel more like it means to lead the family in prayer and devotion.

While I don't pray at every meal, and I do devotions every other day whenever my family all sits down together for a meal I usually lead them in saying what we're thankful for and for God to bless the food to continue His works.

In a day-to-day situation, it should be more focused on exemplifying what Christ's teachings are about, not how often you go to confession or pray out loud. Who cares if you can quote some obscure completely-situational Scripture that probably only applies to 0.5% of the issues people face, if you want to show people what being Christian is all about raise your hands up and show 'em by being what a Christian is about. That's being a leader in EVERY sense of the word.
