Why do men wait til life gets so unbearable on them, b4 they pray & cry unto God. We try 2 calculate things by our brain, u cannot calculate yourself in2 your destiny, u can only pray yourself in2 your destiny. 1Sam.2:9; say by strength shall no man prevail, then why do... men practiced abominable things like in d book of Leviticus 18:1-end bcos these are mainly called "sinners by practice" "All we like sheep hv gone astray. We hv turned each one 2 our own way.. . Truly, all hv sinned & come short of d glory of God"(Isa.53:6; Rom.3:23).

There is no sin that is great or small, all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. I work in an environment where there are many homosexual men. I wanted to leave but for the period of time that God has me there I can do something about it. And do you know where I stand? In prayer and agreement for the saving of their souls. Their sin grieves me as it should all but that is why we are here to show them the love of Christ as all others. We were all sinners but we were saved by grace, we fall sometimes but God loves us and urges us to stand back up and come to Him. So I may hate the sin but never the sinner.

agree 100% God's word is clear on the matter and we know how God feels about this. Where we ourselves sin is how we react and treat those around us who are living this sinful lifestyle. If we shun them, and treat them with hate and contempt are we not acting as the Pharisees did in Christ's days? They looked down their nose at anyone who they deemed a sinner as if being around them, witnessing, or showing love to them would somehow contaminate them all the while they have the same disease of sin. Christ gives us a perfect example of how we should treat gay people we should show love, and concern for them not shun, ridicule, and hate. We error when we feel our sin is less ugly than theirs and get all self righteous and holier than thou.

So...you're either supposed to completely oppose homosexuality or else that makes you a homosexual. That's some pretty scary and very ignorant-sounding absolutism right there.

I have homosexual friends. I disapprove of their lifestyle. They're aware of this. They're aware that I'm a Christian, I do my best to shine Christ's light into their world in my living; but I'm not going to shun them and tell them that they're doomed to Hell because I know that MY sin is just a disgusting to God as theirs may be to me. Make sense?

I don't know why homosexuality is such a huge deal for Christians especially. There are many sins in the Bible, and homosexuality is just one of them. If a sin is defined as "something that is an offense to God's character" then that includes all kinds of things. Have you lied, cheated, stolen, gossiped, lusted, hated, envied, etc? Sin is sin in God's eyes, even though some sins have different consequences on earth from each other they are all the same black mark on our souls. Would you make a point to avoid someone who gossips as much as you would avoid a homosexual? Or maybe an unremorseful drunk, would you avoid them as much as a homosexual? Jesus hung out with the scum of society: prostitutes and (very commonly known to be gruesomely cheating/robbing) tax collectors, etc. He loved the PEOPLE but hated the sin; he is the ultimate doctor to heal the cancer of our souls. If we are Christ's ambassadors, we are not to avoid or shun those who are living in this sin or that sin, but rather we are to minister to them as the Lord leads, treating ANY sin as simply "sin" instead of labeling and treating each sin differently because spiritually... they are all the same.

Jac,

I would say that many Christians just have a massive gay insecurity. XD

Seriously, though...I'm right there with you. I don't understand why so many are hung up on homosexuality as some massively perverse sexual sin when they fail to realize that the lustful thoughts they may be harboring towards members of their preferred sex are JUST as shameful to God.

We are to love thy neighbor no matter who they are.

This by no means are we to accept their lifestyles. Like someone pointed out, the Bible makes it quite clear that homosexual ACTIVITY is a sin.

Some Christians will flat out ignore this passage or twist it into their own liking. You cannot pick and choose which passages to listen to and not to. That's simply absurd.

I do not condone the violence and mistreatment homosexuals face, but I also do not condone homosexual sex.

And like someone else already said...no sin is greater than any other sin.So people need to focus on themselves and their own sins.

When my sister came to me and told me that she was in a homosexual relationship, and that she and her gf were moving in together I was heart-broken. I spoke with both of them at separate times and they each said that they knew it was wrong, but that they weren't gay they were just in love with a woman. With this particular spirit there is a lot of deception. I told them that I can not say "yes" to what God says "no" to, but that I love them. They are not alienated or ostracized in my family. We love them and pray that the Holy Spirit will bring conviction.
