Ummmm...I Can Sew...

and I can cook. Now, if I needed to declare which I did better, I am not sure I could. There have been times I have sewn things backwards. I now understand why my kids stopped asking me to sew Halloween costumes, or volunteering me for sewing class play costumes. I mean, I know they know I tried, but I guess they just got tired of walking into their part hiking up a sleeve or picking up pieces of...well, you get the point.

I have been able to get healthy things into my kids in the most (God inspired!) creative ways. Home-made pizza has hidden a plethora of veggies over the years: asparagus, peppers, spinach to name a few. I have snuck (is that a word?) tofu into them. I can do some pretty yummy things with scrambled eggs. I enjoy creating marinades for beef and chicken.

I can also change a tire. (My dad had me do that BEFORE he let me have the car.) I can check and add oil, but sadly not change it.

My ending was supposed to include an invite to all my sisters to share some things they can do, also. Sorry about that!

I can sew, used to sew a lot of my own cloths before life got too busy. I have made curtains and once I made a fitted cover for a upholstered chair.

I cook, can (as in food storage), I even made beef jerky, dried fruit, bake....

My Dad taught me how to change a tire too and how to check the oil. One time I added oil and was proud of myself, then the next day I noticed oil splattered all over the front of my car. I forgot to put the cap back on!

I like to do arts and craft kinds of things, various kinds of needle work, basket weaving, stained glass, making jewelry, etc. Which are all nice things to be able to do but I think it is more important to cultivate virtues, like kindness, gentleness, patience, self control and faithfulness. Those are the kinds of things a woman needs to make a home a lovely place to be. (with me I am sure there is room for improvement)

I used to sew my own clothes when I was younger. I had a choice, wear the clothes my dad picked out or sew my own. LOL. I can also lay flooring, put up a fence, seed a yard, build a wall, paint a house, install a fan, install recessed lighting, cook up a mean lasagna or a 5min soda cake (yes it cooks in 5 min and is so moist) plus other great food, train a dog, fix a computer, change my oil and change a tire (but would prefer to call AAA for that one), build a porch and can teach kids about God and be a chauffeur, teacher, mom and wife (havent dont that one for over 5 years but would love to do it again) and volunteer at church so much that other people think I almost live there. LOL. But hate to admit it....I can act like I dont know how if there is a man around....i believe in acting helpless, so the man can be the man!!!!
