My biggest problem is that he spends money like he stole it. He seems to think that all he has to do is tax the "rich," and it will all be ok, but they just don't have the money. You can't gorge yourself on fast food all day, then expect an hour of exercise to keep you skinny. The same goes for fiscal policy. Even if the "rich" had enough money to pay for all this ridiculous spending, taking every penny from the business owners would be an absolute disaster.

Thanks Tulip for ur input....i think its usually a cycle....if u tax the rich...people who are mostly into business...they wil inturn release the burden/pressure to the consumer an worker....

I'm not at all an Obama fan, but he is the President, and I will respect his position of authority until I'm forced to choose between him or God. Then I will choose God.

By the way, I didn't vote for him 2008, and I won't vote for him in 2012.

Girl, this is a Republican, conservative forum board with many believing you have to be Republican in oder to be a Christian, so I'll be probably the only positive response you'll get. I love Obama and his wife. I'll be voting for him, I'm glad he's my Prez.:applause:

I'm neither Republican or Democrat.

As for Obama, no, I'm not a supporter. At first, I had a lot of high hopes for him, until I started to listen to some of the promises he was giving and realizing that there was no way he could keep them. Also, I realized a lot of what he supports goes against my values. But like B.C. says, he is our president, and while individually, most of us did not vote for him, as a nation we did. So as my president, I chose to respect him until he goes against God.

I don't claim to be either democrat or republican. I will say I tend to favor the republican view on things but not always. In fact, I believe that both parties quit representing the values they were founded upon long ago.

That being said, I did not vote for Obama before though I did think about it. I am positive I won't vote for him this time. He won the last election because he talks a good game and says things that no one will argue with. He campaigned on hope and change, something every American deep down knows our government needs, but when push came to shove he offered us more of the same. The national debt is the highest it's ever been because of the spending spree he led and it will be my generation and my children's generation who will have to deal with it because the government just keeps kicking the collection can down the road.

Now, I will say that the President has at least done a much better job of representing the US to the world. During the Bush era, it seemed like most of the world really hated us because of what appeared (to me at least) to be our governments "we'll do what we want and the rest of the world can take a hike" attitude. Now it doesn't seem so bad. He's also done a good job of funding energy research - something that was necessary but not helped along like it needed to be for a while.

Sorry for the wall of text. Politics is something I've been watching pretty intently lately and I feel pretty strongly about some things as you might have guessed.

If a country gets the leaders it deserves, then I think God is being kind.

2sparrows, THAT was funny!!! Seriously, all politicians are the same, and Washington has a way of making things grind to a halt. "Republicans" n "Democrats" are just words. the people themselves are a mix, jerks n princes/princesses all. These people have different attitudes as to how the country should be run, but it doent mean that they are "bad". And when they are doing good doesn't make them "good" people. Growing up in the Beltway, you can meet a lot of these people, and it puts how our country is run, and our role in the world, into perspective.
