While I was saying I thought it was a good idea to read the article, I clearly posted how the author interpreted the verse. IT was for discussion. I did not want to bore you with all the reasoning he gave, which is why I suggested reading the article. So far, it's more accurate than other attempts I've read at understanding the verse. Are you telling me that giving the translation how I believe it to be is not good enough for discussion because it didn't come from my own words? Where is the understanding in that? Unfortunately this is a theme with you of not responding with integrity to anyone who disagrees with you. You just let us know when you find something worthy enough for a response from you. I can't help but think you are being dishonest here too. You just started a whole thread trying to tell others that I was in violation of policy. This is so others will report me and your hands will somehow remain clean. All you do is forgive those who harm you right? Why do you think no one speaks up in your defense? You think it's because you're the only true believer here? Sure in a thread where false teachers were called out, you had people backing you. That's because they were the ones being called out as false teachers. You post empty words man. In on beath, you say it's all about unity and understanding. I'll speak in his defense indirectly. I haven't been around for all this alleged heresy, but I've been accused of it here in the past, so I'm aware of how it feels(I'm pretty sure you all will think I am too, just give it time:ROFL:). I'm aware that a man thinks he is right in his own eyes and that there is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death. I'm aware that people think that because they have an interpretation of scriptures, that they think it's the right one(including me). I'm aware that people will persecute and condemn other people and think they are doing God service. I'm aware that people will call on Jesus and say "Lord, lord, we cast out demons in your name", and Jesus will say "I never knew you". I'm aware that God desires us to live justly, love mercy, and walk humbly before our God. I'm assuming that we're all children of God, and that unless someone is living in open sin, it is not our place to judge a person's heart or motives, nor to have vain and condemnatory disputes over unnecessary things, or to hijack and insult people's forum posts. It's kind of rude, and it is probably true that LTM2 does it as well, but if he does, that does not set the standard for everyone else. And just for the record, lack of knowledge or understanding of the truth is not a sin. I don't presume to know exactly what the thief on the cross knew, but it probably wasn't much. All he needed to know was that Jesus was the innocent messiah, and that He could save him. "For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law" "And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent" And don't get me wrong, we need to humbly desire a knowledge of the truth, it is very important for the sake of the gospel, but it is not required for personal salvation.
