The grand-kids had a ball! Our high reached 84 degrees. Summer has come to us early! What happened to Spring? I must have slept through it! Lol Post Reply

Something Jesus said about not taking oaths? Ok in Judges c21 some really awful stuff went down. The tribe Benjamin nearly was made extinct. It happened during the the conflict between the other tribes of Israel vs Benjamin, the tribes attacked the hometown of Benjamin (Jabesh-Gilead), and executed every woman except for a handful of virgins (taken captive). On the heels of that choice, the leaders of the tribes all swear a vow that none of the tribes will ever allow their daughters to given as wives to Benjamin. This causes a problem, when God calls all of Israel to come and worship, Benjamin (the surviving men) refuse to come, and make peace, because of the evil that other sons of Israel had been visited upon them, their tribe will soon die out because of this. It would be an intolerable reproach to them, & God, if they should drop any out and lose one out of twelve, especially Benjamin, the youngest, who was particularly dear to Jacob their common ancestor. But there is a problem, 600 men of Benjamin survived, but only 400 virgins, and the Sacred oath they have taken: "No daughter of any of the tribes will be Given in marriage to Benjamin" The solution? The elders of Israel gave authority to the Benjamites to lie in wait in the vineyards which surrounded the green fields a bunch of virgin daughters of the town Shiloh will dance at during an upcoming Feast, and, when they were in the midst of their dancing, run up to them, and catch every man a wife for himself, and carry them straight away to their hometown, v. 20, 21. The fathers of Shiloh's dancing virgins knew nothing of the coming mass abduction of their own daughters and could not be charged with oath-breaking against God, for they knew nothing of the matter. This is clearly where the idea for 7 brides for 7 brothers comes from. Post Reply

I mean,I liked playing the old turntables with those LPs!(ok,I may be only 23,but my favorite LP albums was "Praise The Lord" by Wanda Jackson from 1972 & "May The Good Lord Bless & Keep You" by Jim Reeves from 1950 which I both can never find on CD),traditional homemade recipes like mash potatoes & macaroni pie (I believe you guys call it Mac & Cheese)?& pancakes Which you now buy in a box & a good bag full of patatoe chips & other snacks that are now being half or almost even empty? Don't get me wrong,I'm glad that we have the technology now for you can now convert tapes & LPs to Cds & even Ipod(gone are the days of tape decks on stereos) & Cellphones are small & don't feel like a brick in your pocket& sadly floppy discs are no more,but man those were the days! The woman took up with Kirk Douglas in the end.It is called the Villian. it was one of Arnold Swarzinager's early movies.Remember, I am The Villian and I want your money Ms. Marvel. I will get all your parents money in the end. No matter what goes wrong I will get it. For the life of me I can not remember the red head that plays in that movie. She always plays the tease.
