...when I am "pounded by the truth".

So I need to bring this up.

Chuck,

It is so hard to just sit idle while you spout misinformation. I had planned to do this privately and I still think that we should because you seem to enjoy the attention.

To begin with The Catholic Church does not need to Interpret Sacred Scripture. She was there when Scripture was written. The Writers of Scripture were there and they were the Ones that Taught those that went on to teach others. She was there when Christ Himself explained everything to His Church and Commanded His Church to Go to the Ends of the world and TEACH.

Chuck, most of what was taught was taught by Word of MouthORALLY! Nothing was written down until years later. There was an Oral Tradition in The Church that was Guarded ZEALOUSLY! There was no problem with excepting the Catholic Church as The Sole Authority concerning Sacred Scripture until after Luther rebelled.

It wasnt your church Chuck that Christ Commandedyour church startedwhat10 years ago from another church that split from another church because their Pastor offended them by demanding that they do something that their interpretation of Scripture said differently.

Your church gets its interpretation from The Holy Spiritright?

What does your church say that this Scripture means?

2 Thessalonians 2:15

Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.

And what about this one?

1 Corinthians 11:2

I praise you for remembering me in everything and for holding to the teachings, just as I passed them on to you.

And this one?

Titus 1:9

He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it.

It seems that Scripture says that the message that has been Taught must be passed on, but of course since The Holy Spirit shows you the correct interpretationit should jibe with what The Church has known since the beginning.

SoChuckwhat does The Holy Spirit say this all means?

Personally, I think that if the Great Peter was up there and came down with some advice for us, he would tell us to stop asking him to do stuff and focus on God instead. To God be all the glory/adoration/veneration/praise/prayer. Without Him we are nothing. All the "saints" are clothed in filthy worthless rags with out Him.

Knowing Peter he would be bringing a sledge hammer to to a little demolition work on the statues in the catholic church!

What if Shadrach, Meshach, and/or Abednego had said: "We'll call it a statue of God and just show veneration to it while everyone else does"? This may or may not be a prank btw.:nahnah::dunce:

And please...I don't mean to imply that you literally worship them, but just the fact that you have them and the idea that you pray/bow down to/at them puts some major questions in my mind.

The Riot in Ephesus

(Acts 19:23-40)

The silversmith who made silver shrines of Artemis called other workmen together in related trades who were worried about their business and incited a riot against Paul.

Seems to me Paul could have Just called them figurines and avoided the whole riot. Heck, even better....why didn't he contract with him to make statues of the Virgin Mary???

hmmmm.....

Arch, I really disrespect the way you keep slamming TS for seriously trying to communicate in a mature way with you about these scriptures and what they mean. He is not mocking your "interpretation" of the Holy Spirit like you are his. And your insinuation about what Spirit he is listening to? You really need your arse knocked off your horse like Paul on the way to Damascus. As a brother in Christ to TS and the rest of those trying to help you in love, be really careful, because if he and the others are answering you by the guidance of the Holy Spirit~you are close to mocking God. Make fun in a loving way, like he has been, but you are downright mean~which makes me wonder what is going on in your heart? Do be very careful about Who is in Him and trying to help you see the truth.

Your behavior is far from humble towards him and I give him and Don't credit for keeping it on track here, when you continue to puff out your chest with prideful and snide remarks to defend a group of people in a building that you call "She" our guide.

I want to know what you think of all these priests and pastors as well, so I'm not just pointing out the Catholic church~that have been getting busted left and right for molesting innocent children? And you think these guys are our "divine guides?"

Do you guys realize how silly and childish you all sound?

Arch, you are the pot calling the kettle black. As far as I can tell, Dont and Sparrow are just trying to make their points to you; granted, it is easy to see how they might be tempted to bite right back at you when you try to grind them into the dirt. In an argument, to stand on your pedestal and point fingers down at other Brothers is just well, ridiculous. I am saying this out of love and for wanting everybody to put on their big boy/girl panties and be reasonable. I really feel like if you could curb some of your pride you could learn from what other people have to say.

But I guess boys dont usually wear panties but I digress.

I think YOU enjoy the attention, Arch, feeling like some sort of eMartyr for the Catholic church. You also struggle with being able to discuss [y]Our Faith openly and with Respect, or at least letting other people do it.

We are all hypocrites, but its probably better to be aware of it.

That does it!

*getting in the truck*

Wooohoooo!

*turning key*

A woman who has my back!

*driving to Michigan*

and

*picking up a ring on the way*

Seriously though, joeysings doesn't really have my back....she has the Holy Spirit's back. And she is right to do so. Archimedes, it has been making me cringe reading what you have been writing about the Spirit. I am glad somebody stood up and said something.

Archimedes, why are you getting so upset? You could tell me my church is not perfect or point out the mistakes of pastors or doctrine that doesn't line up with scripture and I probably would agree with you!

The only explanation is there is something deeper going on....if you would admit that, it would bring you one step closer to peace.

@siylii

"We are all hypocrites, but its probably better to be aware of it"

no "probably" about it....you are so right.

We all try to hide our hypocrisy from others, but the real evil is to hide it from ourselves....(speaking from experience)

Now joey is singing!~a white hat, God loving, faith defending, intestinal fortitude, real cosmic cowboy coming to rescue me from this snow! And in a truck, my favorite ride! Woot! :applause:

Hey, I earned the name "standing tall with fists" through some heavy "defending the faith" schooling, bro. No church, pastor, priest, saint whoever or group of hippies will ever get my faith and adoration in them as the "SHE" group of all knowing ones. Nope, not this ex new age, devil defending, right wing ignoramus sheeple that drank too much of that kool-aid back in the days of "let's all just love each other and make love not war, dudes!"~

These are the last days and the FAITH of right doctrine must be defended to death. And believe me, I am scared to die but much more more fearful of Him who is able to destroy both body and soul in hell, baby! Rev. 12:11~And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

Our nation is permeated with false doctrine and post modernism non-gospel kool-aid straight from the serpent that deceived Eve and the sheep just keep drinking it. Unplug from the matrix and find true peace. :peace:

Almost packing, Cowboy~:purpleangel:
