Dearest Osol letse,

Yes, I agree that we should use the Biblical standard set forth by Christ. The challenge is that too many people today want to apply the social standards of 2000 years ago. If we actually look at Christ's example, instead of the words of others, we see a man light-years ahead of His time. What does the story of Martha and Mary have to say about women's roles? Why do you suppose that Christ, after dying on the cross, first appeared to Mary Magdalene instead of Peter?

Remember, the Holy Word has been translated & rewritten by many men over the millenia, always with an eye toward women's inferiority, as that is how women have traditionally been seen. Take a fresh look at what our Lord and Savior actually said to and about women!

And exactly what was that?

LTM2,

I have given several examples in my responses on this post. Or, don't you bother to read what others write?

What you fail to give is examples and biblical references to support such examples.

Getting back to the original question...

Original Poster wrote "I am a Female...i believe in God and I trust Him...

I want to be treated as a woman... I want women's biblical rights be practically executed on earth..am I a feminist?"

My response,

Feminist?

Are men and women, unseen and unloved within their marriages wrong because they desire to be seen and loved? Are abused children wrong because they desperately long to escape their abusers?

At the same time, why did Jesus allow Himself to be born a man? Why did He allow Himself to be beaten and crucified? Was it to be treated as a King? Was it so His biblical rights could be practically executed on earth?

Are we here to live our own lives? Or are we here to live the life of Christ, which is often a life subject to suffering.

It is not wrong for anyone to desire to be treated in a loving and Christ like manner. What may be wrong is how we respond to that desire. Do we respond as Jesus did? Or do we attempt to save our own lives in our flesh?

If to be a feminist truly meant to seek the "good" for women, then the Bible is full of the greatest feminists that have ever lived, as well as the greatest failures. Sarah, Abraham's wife, Ruth, Esther, Mary the mother of Jesus and others like them, are true examples of women who by laying down their lives, like Christ, accomplished more for the biblical rights of women than all other worldly women combined. Why? Because true freedom for any woman or man, is found in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Consider the following: What "right" was Eve interested in as she took the fruit from the tree of The Knowledge of Good & Evil? What rights were Sarai interested in as she followed her husband Abraham, leaving all she ever knew behind? What rights were Lot's wife interested in, as she looked back on Sodom and Gomorrah, leaving her husband and daughters behind? What rights were Esther interested in? Her own, personal rights? Or the salvation of her people? Jesus laid down ALL OF HIS RIGHTS, so that we might be free. And who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Something else,

Since women are not a separate part of the "Body" of Christ, is there really such a thing as "women's rights" separated from the whole of society or from the rest of the Body of Christ? Women being treated in a Christ like manner, is dependent upon the spiritual condition of men and women as a whole. For a single part of a body to be concerned only for itself is not logical nor is it feasible. Without the health of the whole body, the single part will never be seen, loved or treated as it should.

God bless

dreamtime...

can we call these women you cited as feminists or not?

they all had their account in history, each had made their choice and did their part as women;for them to be considered very significant...didn't they mind their rights at that time?

what makes an issue biblical or unbiblical...?

How can we really tell if the issue is biblical or unbiblical?

Osol wrote "can we call these women you cited as feminists or not?"

A more basic question would be to ask how the Lord referred to these women. Were any of these women following (advocating) their own will, or were they following the Will of God? If they were following the Will of God, as opposed to their own will, wouldn't they rather be called Ambassadors of God? Which title best brings glory to the Lord? Follower of Christ or Feminist?

"There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus." Galatians 3:28

Osol wrote "didn't they mind their rights at that time?"

Actually, like Christ, each one of these women laid their lives down, and by faith, became usable to God in such a way, that the Lord was able to change the world forever through them.

Feminism may move certain aspects of a society, but it is only faith, the size of a mustard seed, which will move the mountains which imprison womens hearts.
