question for men 50 and older---though anyone can answer
Posted : 11 Oct, 2010 06:29 PM

Why is it at even 50 and older most men on here are looking for women way younger than they are? I am 52 but I feel I have a young mind. I love the Lord, love life, my family and have a good heart yet I feel like the only way to a man's heart is to be 20-30.

Dont Christian men EVER care for a woman because of inner beauty?

@ Marie dont worry. God is powerful to give good gifts, and no matter the age, a Godly woman is harder to resist to a Godly man than a "10" :) because no one loves like my God, and woman who does is an awesome person to behold!

Rose said: "Pixy, have you ever heard the phrase, "Pretty is as pretty does?" Growing up, I'd have people tell me that I was cute or pretty, but I don't remember people using the word beautiful. I've always believed that it was due to my personality. I'm silly and love kids and I do things that people see as "cute." In our minds, we don't usually separate those things, we just look at someone and think, "She's cute." It is a package set.

"I think that is what the guys have been trying to tell us - they are initially attracked to a pretty face, but they stay around if she acts pretty. There are a lot of beautiful women who act real ugly.

"As women, we would do well to focus on acting like we have a beautiful heart so that when a man looks at us, he sees a beautiful woman."

YES! I agree =)

@Marie- Thanks for your prayers and your kind words.

@Tulip- Yes, I think that is a legitimate desire up to a point. As SilverFire pointed out, though, relationships with such a gap between ages don't always really work. We would also do well to remember that the goal of marriage is not to make babies (not that you said that it is because you didn't!). We should get married to someone we can glorify the Lord with and who will help us reflect Him to the world around us... I think that we sometimes get our wants mixed up with that and think that things are necessary that really aren't.

Tulip,

This friend of yours that is 35 and wants a woman that wants to be able to have children. Does he already have children? If not why did he wait so long? Was he working on a career? How would he like it if he was a woman?

I personally wonder when younger men contact me. I wonder what they want from me. I don't bother with them.

Also, I feel that it is easier to just click past someone on these sites versus meeting them in person.

Sara was 10 years younger than Abraham. That's the only age difference I know of in the bible. 10 years or less, but I will talk with any age, just not just for dating.

There was David who had a younger wife in his later years.

and who can forget Solomon I bet he had all kinds of wives. Or probably any ruler for that matter.

Although Im not justifying it, me personally age is one of the last things i look at.

Not quite 50 yet, but I really don't see any reason to consider marriage until people have had a chance to really meet.

I set my age parameters to any for this reason, but like some others I also would probably prefer a younger bride, but then I would also prefer a nicer, kinder, gentler, more pleasant, healthier, more interesting, enthusiastic, fun, energetic and better looking qualities in a mate than i possess. LOL..

Anyone think Abraham was younger than Keturah, who Abraham married after Sarah passed away? (see Genesis Chapter 25).

How about Boaz?

The main thing for me is we should and better get busy living... no one will be around here that much longer, at least not until Jesus comes again.

Maranantha,

Mike
