"Christian" Guys looking for women their daughter's age? I don't think so!Posted : 20 Sep, 2010 08:22 AMI understand the initial appeal of a significantly older man, but in the long term it really makes no sense to me. Is it really worth the risk of autism, schitzophrenia, and bipolar disorder in your children? Is it worth him being an old man while the youngest is in high school who can't get up to cheer at his soccer games? And when you finally have an empty nest, you won't be able to do a whole lot since you'll have to be his caregiver. |

"Christian" Guys looking for women their daughter's age? I don't think so!Posted : 20 Sep, 2010 08:43 AMOuch. But that's pretty much the truth logically. I think again it depends on God's plans. Like Abraham, climb that high mountain to deliver Isaac to the top but hey God strengthened him, God made impossible into very possible. |

"Christian" Guys looking for women their daughter's age? I don't think so!Posted : 21 Sep, 2010 12:11 AM@ saved; show me in the bible where there needs to be a certain age a man and a woman needs to be when they get married, or any biblical basis for your point of view. And if I'm hearing you correctly, a man who is 50 that goes for a woman of 30 has the makings of the pedofile, think again. |

"Christian" Guys looking for women their daughter's age? I don't think so!Posted : 21 Sep, 2010 12:47 AMMy counselor told me that there is an accepted "rule of thumb" that 12 years is considered a generation so dating someone who is more than 11 years younger or older than you is an indication of possible "issues". That is not a mandate, but a warning sign and something to consider. |

"Christian" Guys looking for women their daughter's age? I don't think so!Posted : 23 Sep, 2010 12:10 AMYoung is the Holy Grail in our culture. IT is the package that matters. Given the fact that most men aren't even their own age, emotionally speaking, little wonder they would seek their own level or even younger; gives them a sense of having the upper hand. They achieve a warped sense of value if they capture the affection of someone considerably younger. It is a sad reflection on the those men in the church and their growth towards christian maturity. Besides, when they run into a real woman their age it is intimidating because those same women have set aside childish things and he hasn't. He finds himself caught in the light of day worshiping what the world has for him more than the blessing the Lord has prepared.Blinded by something shiny they miss the treasure that is beyond price in the women who are their own age and who have matured in the Lord. |

"Christian" Guys looking for women their daughter's age? I don't think so!Posted : 25 Sep, 2010 07:58 PMAnd where are the age limits at? Are they in Leviticus, or perhaps Numbers, somehow I missed that as I read the bible. Maybe its in Proverbs where all the Wisdom of Solomon is found...no not there either. hmm... maybe its one of the ten commandments "thou shalt only marry within a ten year range of yourself. No, where than is this God ordained level that men are supposed to stay at in the bible? |
