I think everybody gave perfect politically right answers but it seems to me, that many people love their spouse but are fully, totally in love with another person at the same time.

I don't give PC answers. Honestly, I do not believe that anyone can be in love with two people at the same time. Because, someone is always going to be favored.

Now loving others is a different story, but that is not the same thing as being in love.

Do you know the song: Torn between two lovers?

It was a Number 1 on the U.S. Pop Chart in 1977.... (US Bill Board Hot 100 Number 1, US Bill Board Easy Listening No1, and US Bill Board Hot Country Singles No1)

I would say, its not just some lyrics people cannot relate to... actually it accurately describes the situation at hand: in love with 2 persons.

It is prohibited to put links on this site but both the song and the lyrics are on youtube and wikipedia respectively (sung by Mary MacGregor)

Also the Hollywood movie Dr Zhivago was a tremendous success. It is about a doctor who is in love with two women. It is still an evergreen classic, sold and rented out every day all over the world

Perhaps you hope and pray to not be in love with 2 persons at the same time and perhaps you feel it is totally unjust and unchristian.... but for it to be impossible....

By the way, my remarks about Politically correct was kind of arrogant. Actually it was not at all what I wanted to say. So do forgive me, I did not mean it as it sounded

I think there is only one "it" girl; the one you love.

When you've found her, all the rest look like "cousin it" girls.

Many ppl think that love is a emotion and its how the other person makes them feel. LOVE ITSELF IS NOT AN EMOTION.

I have the capacity to love many ppl in the different ways that we love. My mom gets one type, my children another. My siblings and the ppl at church all get love from me. My friends.

It makes me think of the biblical references of the men who had more than one wife. That jazz almost never worked out. It was always obvious who the man loved more and usually he loved the children from that wife more as well.

If we love the way the Word in Corithians tells us (is it kind, does not seeks its own, etc..), we ask too much of ourselves to give all that to more than one person at a time. Someone will go lacking.

Can you feel affection for more than one person? Sure. Love is the giving of oneself and I don't think its wise to try.

Babygirl, I think that everyone here agrees that we can love two different people at the same time, but in different ways.

But, we dont believe that someone could be in a romantic, husband-wife relationship with two people at the same time. There is no way that you could be just as loving to both people, one will be above the other.

This is why you can never win an argument, people love to equivocate.
