Here's my first anything for the day.

I know the Word says newborns desire the milk of the Word; but I don't agree with some who think new Christians should be handled with kid gloves. Why should they be treated differently than someone who's 'worked longer hours in the field'?

A baby would probably prefer to drink milk as long as mom will allow. But mom knows at a few months old in order for the baby to grow and become strong solid food has to be given.

Does Jesus treat new Christians any different than He does us? Even 'tho my son was two he got mad if his 5 year old brother could go out to play and he couldn't.

What is meat? What is steak? Isn't it God's Word and not how one dresses, how they act; how the disrespect someone; how they relate to others or others to them?

When that baby is born mom Immediately begins to do everything in her power to raise that child to adulthood. She doesn't wait a week or two cause she's unsure how to take care of him. Why would one think it's wrong that baby christians be held to the same standards as a 30 year old Christian?

Just like you did they became a new creature .

Does Jesus expect us to be"easy" on them simply because they are young? My parents were harder on me when I was young because they wanted me to have it easy when I was older.

If mom doesn't give that baby solids the child will never grow up. And even tho that baby didn't like it at the time, in the long-run it was for the best! Just like strict teachers I had ,I respect the people who as I was growing up pampered me in no way. They had a great impact on me in a good way' tho at the time I may have huffed and puffed cause I thought they were being mean but as I look back today I realize they were the ones who Really Cared.

Sorry my Anything was so long twosparrows! Once I got started I couldn't stop.:excited:

Deborah,

Long or short 'Anything' goes!

I think the Scriptures agree with the spirit of your post.

In using the milk analogy, Paul was encouraging believers to move on towards maturity.

In Cor 3 he pretty much uses the analogy to call them 'big babies'.

And in Heb 5 is a call for "slow learners" to move on to maturity.

The Truth is the Truth no matter what age you are.

But the way that Truth is delivered may have to vary.

You can tell a 9 year old not to climb that tree cause it's too tall and if he falls he may break a leg but if you tell that to a two year old he won't understand it and might not listen so you'd have to be stern in telling him No.

People are different. Some babies can mature quicker if you use soft words and gentle touches. Soft words and gentle touches may stunt the growth of one who is eager eager eager to get out of the crib---and if he bites you every time you coo at him you may need to TALK A LITTLE LOUDER!

Not sure I'm even making sense. That wasn't even the ANYTHING I wanted to talk about. Blame Deb for getting me side-tracked.

Been thinking about trading him in on a horse.

Know any horse owners interested in a dog that won't listen?

Would anyone like to write 3 pages regarding the development of circadian rhythms in infants? Also up for grabs: a 6-7 page research proposal and a couple of short art history essays. Or, maybe you'd like to come be my maid, cook, personal assistant, and errand boy/girl? Anyone?

AHHH!

HELP!

Chevy, as a matter of fact I know a guy who is looking for a dog and wants to get rid of a horse he can't catch ; )

Pixy,

I would love to help, however I am under qualified to write your papers, the wrong gender to be a maid and over calling me a errand boy is like calling the Mississippi a creek.

Guess I have more of a question than observation.

More and more now the phrase keeps coming up- "hate the sin but love the sinner." I agree up to a point, but when I see someone obviously, knowingly, and willing going against God's teachings and commandments; making excuses and expecting others to acept them, how far do you go?

Examples include homosexuality, drug and alcohol abuse, or stealing to name a few.

I know God commands us to love one another, and no sin is bigger than another except blasphemy, but it's getting more and more difficult to ignore these openly committed acts.

I try to do the right thing and show the Christian love toward all as God commands, but I'm not going to hang out with someone I know is openly thumbing their nose at God's commandments because they give the excuse "Jesus understands me" or "who are you to judge me?"

Am I wrong? I know we all interpret the scripture differently. I try awful hard not to come off sounding like a biggot or heretic. I guess my reasoning is that by accepting the behavior of these folks is to condone what they are doing.

I hope this makes sense. Any opinions?

If you're speaking of other Christians, Edw, then you should follow the principles outlined in Matthew 18.

If you're speaking of non-Christians, then who cares? They're not going to get to Heaven by cleaning up their act. Salvation must precede sanctification.
