Would you be upset if someone asked if you have any kind record with the police? I am interested because I did date someone who is Christian, gainfully employed, a church attender from in my area when I found out he was incarcerated for domestic abuse and bi-polar after a restraining order was obtained by me when his anger issue became my problem. If I had done a background check I would have never dated him to begin with. Now I do background checks, prayer and confirmation before I date anyone. Do you find this type of cautionary procedure offensive?

If we can elect a President without a birth certificate, we can date without background checks. :excited:

ShampoodTwice:

So what would you do with the examples given of people with backgrounds that have accepted Christ and changed?

If someone you started to date asked you for a complete financial picture of you to protect themselves from incurring financial debt and problems are you willing to give financial bank account reports and balance sheets?

If they asked you for DNA test to ensure you have to genetic predispositions or your future children are not likely to be predisposed, would you submit to it?

If they ask for a furtility test to protect their chances of being a parent would you submit to it?

How would you feel if hotels, restuarants, work places, collected your DNA (hey it's public information, you left it there) and sold it to businesses and insurance companies so they could make judgements about you as to whether to employ your or insure you or what rates to charge for your premiums?

Obviously I have rather strong opinions about the use/abuse of technology. Sorry. I'll try to hop of my soap box. :)

Shawn,

Our government feels your pain and understands you are being inconvenienced by the invasion of your privacy for your own safety. At this very moment they are putting your tax dollars to good use to remedy this most unfortunate and regrettable situation asap. Even as we speak they are working hard to pass a law making it mandatory to microchip all horses. This will facilitate a testing ground to perfect its administration, usage, data gathering and storing procedures. So don't worry and be patient the government has everything under control for your own good. Soon we can praise our government for ridding us of all these necessary inconveniences through the use of a small microchip.

The best way to know someone is through their friends and family. Putting the responsibility for deciding if s/he is right for us in anothers hands is escaping decision making, much like we as a nation want everything done for us.

Since most people only get caught 1% what would it matter anyway even if you wanted to do it, which I wouldnt want to do for a date.

Getting married, a different story because her/his debts become yours, so at least there is logic in that.

Paul never wanted to date, but if he did, I guess he would be off the list Girl McDonough

I am flying tomorrow and only wear dresses (unless roofing barns etc.). Y'all had to go and mention airports. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. They seem to have decided that I wear the dress to A. hide bombs or weapons or B. get felt up, poked, prodded, and have every nook and cranny of my body explored by a stranger as I stand on display for the viewing pleasure of the people going through security.

Really considering hitting Wal-Mart tomorrow and buying a one piece girdle so I can strip rather than being stripped. Just send the dress on through and walk in wearing that. Or maybe I should hit Victoria's Secret...to ensure there are no secrets.

Sorry y'all. Sunny disposition is getting plumb cloudy with those creatures. And no, I do NOT care about their rhetoric as to why it is necessary to essentially strip search and feel me up in public to ensure public safety. Makes me mad enough to want to to do the very things they are trying to avoid. Idiot government trying to make wearing a dress a crime. Stealing is fine for them, but let a lady wear a dress and Katie bar the door.

Ok, ranting moment coming to an end. Please check your DNA at the door and be sure to submit a sample each time you come to pick me up for a date.

to Elisa;

I'll be strip searched for the safety of the country. I'll go naked if this will save anyone from slamming into a building full of children and their teachers. Complaining isn't the answer but doing what's right even if it hurts is.

Stop wearing dresses because you look better in them. (Then you won't need to complain about the airport checking you...)

I am appalled that so many are complaining about this country and our governmant.

We have the best freedom available in the world.

Go live in South America, Mexico, or Afghanistan for one week, you will kiss the ground you are walking on today if you would make it back alive to here.

I shall continue to do background checks none the less that will only weed out felons or people who didn't get away from breaking the law, the rest of the dating will be done with prayer, caring and concern for the well-being of this soul.

Thank you for your comments, I appreciated your thoughts for the day...

Shawn67:

When some claim to take Jesus Christ as their Savior and their lives are changed a need to check their fruits first is neccessary...just to remind you that another has done the same, he was called Judas Iscariot.
