Help?! =)

What does it mean when a guy sends a wink? Is he looking for a response or just trying to be friendly, or what? Do you think it's okay to ignore a guy who sends you a bunch of winks... like several a week... ?

P.S. The blinking thing is annoying. Haha...

@willing2love- Well, we're all different. Perhaps some people do like winks. But if you're not getting responses that way, it wouldn't hurt to try sending messages =)

I know this wink thread is dying down, but I'm confused about something. I always respond to the winks I receive just to be nice because I know some folks are shy. Well, the last couple weeks I have been getting winks from a few ladies and when I send them a polite reply I never hear from them again. What gives? I thank them for the wink, tell them I'm flattered and to feel free to e-mail me. I continue by telling them that I'm always glad to make new friends. Then after the winks stop, they check out my profile several times a week. (Still do) I've even written a couple of them just in case there was a chance they didn't get my message, but still no response. My profile very clearly states I'm only looking for a chat-e-mail buddy. I don't understand.

Hey Charles,

The best answer I can come up with is that because this is such a non-confrontational, 'you never have to see so I'll never have to deal with the not playing by the regular rules of social etiquette' venue people tend to be what you and I would consider rude.

Many can not deal with rejection even when it's done in a very respectful, nice way. Those who have issues with their self esteem and self worth (unfortunately there are more who do than don't) take the rejection as a confirmation of their own feelings.

In the end, I say you can only do what you can do. I treat people how I want to be treated and when they don't write back, one more person crossed off the list of prospective spouses. Only 5,999,999,999 more women in the world to consider!
