What do you men think about "GOING SOLAR"?

Wouldn't it be great to lower our heating and cooling bills by going solar?

I'd sure welcome a small energy bill.

What are your ideas for going green and going solar?

No air pollution from that!

Once it is manufactured and delivered, NO AIR POLLUTION FROM THAT.

You know they don't want us to have those things.

I'm enjoying this conversation.

These conversations need to exist.

All electric motors use a form of magnetic repulsion and attraction. Some have permanent magnets others use electromagnets where electricity is used to create magnetic fields for repulsion/attraction.

My brain can't fathom how magnetic propulsion can work without supplemental power. Although magnets can generate some power it still requires power to generate power and in every case it's more power in less power out. You may be able to almost achieve equilibrium with a spinning motor and maybe they have with the  "PERPETUAL MOTION DEVICE"  But I imagine it has to be in a vacuum to remove any potential wind resistance because any load even as small as air would bring it to a stop. I also bet it's been around for a very long time with no progress being made beyond what was originally achieved.

I say this because scientists have been trying for a very long time to get more energy out then what's being put in and as far as I'm aware that barrier hasn't been broken. That's what has to happen for it to be of any use. I think God may have put restraints on certain things and this might be one of them.

The Bible speaks of those who suppress the truth.

Speaking of truth, I woke up early and started watching an old 1942 black and white movie called Miss Annie Rooney with Shirley Temple and the "PERPETUAL MOTION DEVICE" was mentioned near the beginning of it.

The U.S. Patent Office said you couldn't patent a "Perpetual Motion Device" so now we speak of "efficient" and "efficiency" instead. But even so, powerful interests do not want you to have knowledge that would be unprofitable for them. They do not want you to have FREE ENERGY.

You probably can't patent the "PERPETUAL MOTION DEVICE" because it was already patented and the original patents expired. It was mentioned in the movie again at the end only they were calling it the "PERPETUAL MOTION MACHINE" perhaps due to copyright issues or maybe the new version is just the same thing renamed.

Thank goodness the movie wasn't a musical otherwise I would have never made it to the end.

Handyman62, thanks again for your insights.

Nuclear energy may have a nice safety record overall. However, when it has problems they are huge ones.

Depending on the type, nuclear waste may need stored for thousands or hundreds of thousands of years.

Also, while increased safety procedures reduce the likelihood of a nuclear power plant meltdown, one meltdown could be catastrophic.

Earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes, and various other unforeseen circumstances could lead to a disaster.

Got to agree with you there, James!

Chernobyl

Three Mile Island

On 11 March 2011, a major nuclear accident started at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant in Ōkuma, Fukushima, Japan following a massive earthquake and tsunami.

Yep! They don't build those nuclear power plants the way they used to.

One knows there are going to be mishaps with nuclear, and what of terrorist attacks? If you were a terrorist, wouldn't you want to hit a nuclear power plant for maximum terror? SAFE?
