dear ky, hehe i never thought you really approved of it..

i realize you was just wantin us all to not be too hard of others.. and to make sure that when we are not condonin of others sins that we still show love.. and thats very true.. yet we also have to be sure that we dont cross that line of becoming an approval of said sins.. even though we all do sin at some point and times.. we know that its wrong and we dont approve of it.. so we repent and ask for forgiveness.. if someone doesnt know or realize that something is sinning then we should tell them if we love them..

james 5:19-20 19 Brethren, if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back, 20 let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins.

and this is what JESUS spoke to paul as to his purpose..

acts 26:18 to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.

so we do have a responsibility to tell the homosexuals that they are sinning..

Dear Ky,

I don't think anyone here has expressed the method in how they would present the Gospel to someone or that they would be confrontational. I believe that we are just answering the the questions concerning homosexuality and if they have a right to marry and or adopt children.

We are always suppose to present the Gospel in the spirit of love but we must be complete in what we present and no omit the hard truth of the consequences of rebellion. Remember what Jesus told the Apostles in presenting the Gospel?

I'll let you look that one up. hehe. Oh..just kidding.

Mat 10:14 And whoever will not receive you nor hear your words, when you depart from that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet.

15 Assuredly, I say to you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city!

Mar 16:15 And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.

16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. NKJV

The phrase "does not believe" means "DISBELIEVES". In other words someone who heard the Gospel and then rejected it. They are condemned! Not a good place to be.

Blessings!

Walter

Well, I can tell I'm going to make a lot of friends on this board tonight...

Gay Marriage:

Since Marriage was God's idea (and not the state's) I think it serves to reason that gay marriage will never be recognized by God and is often pointed out by God to be sinful.

To the idea that there's a genetic pre-disposition to being homosexual, let's assume for the moment that this a correct assumption: What does that change about God's commands? Nothing. Much as I also have to guard against lust, drunkenness and other sins of the flesh, so must the person with homosexual tendencies guard against those tendencies.

That is not to say God hates homosexuals. God doesn't. But the thing is, he loves us too much to leave us there in our sin. Christ demands change. Change over every part of sin, change over our nature. This is the process of salvation. God sometimes chooses to remove certain sins immediately and leaves us other to struggle with. God is sovereign and he does with his creation as he wills.

Just because someone shows homosexual tendencies, does not mean that we should demean them as a person. It does not mean that we should take away their children and then tar and feather them. (Lest again we commit a greater sin.) That person is still created in the image of God. God still values them and they deserve to be treated with respect regardless of their sinfulness.

As a final note to Matthew 7:1, too often I don't think we don't read that entire verse in context: I don't believe Christ is saying "Don't judge." Christ is saying in the next verse, "Be careful how you judge because the same exact measure that you're using is going to be used on you." I don't believe I'm putting words in the master's mouth there, but you are free to disagree there. :-)
