Wives and Husbands (notice in verse 21, the whole thing starts out with 2 humble people). See also (Song of Solomon 1:1–17; 1 Peter 3:1–7) Ephesians 5:21 Submit to one another 👉👉out of reverence for Christ👈👈.Wives, submit to your husbands 👉👉as to the Lord👈👈. 23For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, His body, of which He is the Savior. 24👉Now as the church submits to Christ, 👉👉so also👈👈 wives should submit to their husbands in everything. 25Husbands, love your wives, 👉👉just as Christ👈👈 loved the church and 👉👉gave Himself upfor her👈👈26to sanctify her, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, 27and to present her to Himself as a glorious church, without stain or wrinkle or any such blemish, but holy and blameless. 28In 👉👉the same way👈👈, husbands ought to love their wives 👉👉as their own👈👈 bodies. He said how a married couple was asked about the secret to the longevity of their marriage. The man answered that before marriage they agreed that he would handle all the major decisions and that his wife would handle all the minor decisions, and after 20 years of marriage, he found that he had never had a major decision to make. Women wear the pants these days and the courts and law-enforcement and pastors more often side with the women. Guys don't really find submissive women. But some women represent before marriage that they will be submissive to their husband. But in marriage, it is rarely so. More often women want to rule. Post Reply

Posted : 24 Jul, 2024 04:21 AM Yes I do, it's one of the biblical principals that a wife submit to her husband, But more than that it also says not to be unequally yolked with unbelievers. That is why I think it's important to find someone who shares the same faith, with the same beliefs and convictions. To keep the house unified in one faith. How do you find a wife when women are more committed to their careers?? I mean if I need a doctor, Teacher, architect, or social worker thats why the yellow pages exist, but to find someone who actually wants to look after the home while her husband works and commit to raising her children full time, Post Reply

So it goes both ways. Now some would say that is directed at the body of christ in general but if we are not unequally yoked is not our wife also a member of the body of christ? So how much more so should it be to her given that she has more skin in the game having given herself to you mentally, emotionally and physically to her husband. That said there are also different God given roles within a relationship which is where verse 3 onwards comes in. So Paul is reminding that although there is mutual submission that the man still has the role of head of the home and the responsibilities that come with that, and he is reminding men that that role is not an excuse to be controlling/domineering but rather we are to sacrifitially love.
