He sleeps 13 hours each night and rests for several hours at midday. He is shy and peaceful. The hind toe is not. Ducks have 3 eyelids.. When ducks quake, they have no echo.-- Ducks' feathers are waterproof (hence the saying, " like water off a duck's back"). ____________________________ Ducks line their nests with feathers they pluck from their own chest! They have no teeth. One of only 2 mammals that lay eggs. The infants (when hatched) are the size of lima beans. _____________________________ The males are venomous.
