Marie is my niece's middle name. I started calling her Re-Re when she was a baby. We all still call her that.

I DON"T like nicknames at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

However, I've learn to live with them, because my mother was so bad about hanging them on the people she loved.

My son "John" is Tate to the family; "sweet potato" daughter Lisa is "Bootsie" "she is very small, Mom said she could live in a boot!"

I'm "Deb" to my family, but I HATE it!

My grand-dad called me "rabbit". He's the only person who ever called me that. He died when I was 12. I had forgotten all about that nick-name till I saw this thread. Still have no clue why he chose "rabbit"!

My name is a nickname but this is what my mother had me legally called with a middlename after Joan of Arc. My dad's most times cynical sense of humor took my name and added roosky to it. He was the only one who ever called me this and he called me this only to get a reaction of disgust from me. No-one else in the family ever called me this, ever.

in some "subcultures" the children used whatever last name the mother's "man" used (legal name or not!)

this was really trouble when I had to exsplan to a friend what a maiden name was, AND we had to track down his mother's actual Legal one!

I've had quite a few over the years:

Hootie (from Hootie and the Blowfish, I don't know why my parents called me that when I was a baby)

The Bruiser (I was the biggest baby in the hospital when I was born)

F-jet (a play on my last name)

K

K-Dog

K-9 (my name is Kyle, which explains the K, and I wore number 9 when I played soccer/baseball in high school)

I think there were more, but I can't remember right now.

I will regret this but here goes.

In high school I was called Eddie Munster from the Munsters tv show. I had the same haircut.:dancingp:

Now i think the nick name Clint will do as I am a real tuff guy.

Billy bob has been floating around my circle of friends lately... there was

Billy H o from the movie white men can't jump, i don't know who has all seen that...

silly billy is what my family calls me cuz my grandpa is the original bill, and i am the prankster of my family...

wakko is from the animaniacs, it was a cartoon popular when i was young and i used to use his voice and yell "hello nurse" all the time and people love that helium voice and i can do it all day.

whetto/ or white boy cuz i was the palest in my group of friends and never understood race differences till i got older, they would always say "yeah that is our white cousin billy but we just call him whetto... btw that is spelled phonetically not actual spelling... other than that...

hot shot cuz of what i did in track and field... i would slack off in practice, but my very first meet i qualified for state and got a lot of guff from my coach and team for it...
