In the few weeks that I have been here I have had two men give me their phone numbers (without me asking).I know this is the virtual world and things work a little differently than IRL, but I am rather traditional in my thinking. I think the man should be the pursuer. Because of the nature of this medium, I will sometimes initiate communication. I prefer to chat via email/IM for a bit before talking on the phone. And even than I don;t do the calling (I obviously do return calls..) In both cases I have thanked the men for offering their numbers to me and have explained why I wouldn;t be making the initial phone call. I have a point here somewhere. lol... I quess what Im asking is, have you done this here or IRL? What are your thoughts on the initial phone contact thing? Shouldn;t men ask for a woman's number? Melissa Post Reply

Posted : 17 Jan, 2011 03:41 PM I've always been one to get women's numbers, but I can see why a guy would think that he was being considerate of the woman's privacy when he gives her his number. Really though, what's the big deal? It's just one phone call. It's not like he's expecting you to propose to him. What would be so terrible about calling a guy? Post Reply

And just so everyone knows... Both did not give me their numbers on the first contact. In both cases we had charred via email and IM. I did call the last one (with my # blocked) and I survived. lol Guess it's just me over analyzing again ;p Post Reply

Posted : 19 Jan, 2011 10:29 AM They know we're in high demand when we're pretty and we have many choices and there's loads more single men than women. I wouldn't personally call a man first - he has to chase me and prove himself. However, I say thank you Lord as within 3 days I have the most adorable , tall, handsome, man of God chasing after me and he fit's every specification I prayed for in every tiny detail.
