....but how many of you fellas are virgins? I'm sincerely curious. It's so hard to come across pure people these days, and I'm just wondering if there are plenty of people who believe in purity before marriage out there.

Kelly, when I got married I was a virgin at 37 years,ok.

Also, when we come to Christ all are sins are forgiven so does that mean we are virgins then. I will allow you young lady to ponder that. Now that my x has left me, I will wait for marriage because I have a moral code.

Pixy, been missing ya!

Pixy has a good point about virginity and purity being two different things. I hadn't really thought about that aspect of it until a friend and I had a conversation on that very topic. Both he and I are still virgins at the age of 27, and we were discussing the difficulties of waiting until marriage. He mentioned a quote he heard (I don't remember who said it originally) that said something to the effect of "You can lose your purity without losing your virginity."

I'm a virgin, and my preference is to marry a virgin. However, if a guy (who perhaps gave away his virginity previously, but who has repented and is no longer living that life) is living a pure life and is committed to saving himself for his wife, that's far more important to me than someone who is a virgin only in the technical sense that he's not had intercourse.

Also, I have a lot of respect for guys like Brandon (who only dates cheerleaders  ) who are man enough to say "I'm not a virgin, but I really wish I were." Guys do not earn my respect when they get defensive, start trying to justify their reasons for not being virgins, or start cutting down other people who ARE virgins and hope to find someone else who shares a similar past.

KellyBean, just so you know, there ARE virgins out there...perhaps more than you and I even realize. Brandon shared this link a while back. It's good. You might want to check it out.

Pixy: :applause:

Well said!

I am not a virgin, nor was I when I married, but I now choose to remain pure. My ex-husband was a virgin but anything but pure. (This was also before my return to the faith.) I hope that my future husband is also pure, but whether he is a virgin is less important to me.

All I was trying to say is that I am a virgin. I don't know why it decided to be blank.

I am a virgin, but I dispute it a bit...I'm definitely not "pure".
