Is it as hard for the men to speak up and start a conversation as it is for some of us? (some think the man should initiate anyway, or she is ..........whatever)

Even when someone puts you in favorites, it seems they never write and ...how else are you going to find anything out?? Many don't frequent the forums, which I think is a great place to see what they are about.

Do you feel if you email privatly that she will think you are "too serious" or something?

If ignoring you is supposed to mean shes interested, then how does a woman let a man know that shes not interested? No wonder women have such a hard time getting rid of some guys.

For me taking the leadership means keeping a relationship on the right track, setting the goals and directions. It doesnt mean that a guy has to do everything. I dont see how sending a message saying hello is taking the lead.

Throw the poor guy a bone, give him a little hint that he might be interesting.

One of the reasons my younger brother broke up with his girlfriend of like 2 years is that his girlfriend wanted to sit back and have him put all the effort into the relationship. If marriage is going to be a successful partnership where both people put in effort, the relationship needs to reflect that. If a man can lead a marriage while the wife puts in all her effort, the same can be true of a relationship. I'll be interested to see how the mainstream christian dating scene changes over the next couple years, because I think it's going to have to make a move in that direction.

I think a better title for this would be speaking freely. Messaging online is a lot harder than real life because you can't emprovise and play/react off interact with or just joke around with the other person or really let your personality shine, which to me is the best part of meeting new people. It seems like unless you're really direct and formal, it's impossible to be understood in the right context, and that's no fun. Why anyone would willingly choose online over real life is beyond me to be honest.
