There's been a lot of debate about what we should/shouldn't talk about on the forums! What do you think? How much can we talk about before it needs to be "private"?

Sex/Sexual Orientation?

Drunkenness?

Gluttony?

Anger/Pride?

Jealousy/Coveting?

Addiction/Predisposition?

Sin in general?

*scrolling back to previous posts*

hmmm...lets see hear I gave Tulip and Dennis the same kind of post.

*scratching head*

Tulip seems happy, why is Dennis sad?

*looking in the mirror*

hmmmm...he says I need to grow up?

*looking back in wallet*

To bad, love to help, but I am only licensed to give driving advice.

One more thing... If anyone is offended by discussing Biblical topics (such a the Song of Songs or passages dealing with sin), then they might as well just say that they're offended by God. The Bible is His Words after all. I'm not understanding why people are bashed for discussing Biblical topics. If someone is that offended by discussing God's Word, doesn't see it as being relevant, or doesn't believe that it should be followed, then why are they even on a Christian forum?? They are plenty of secular forums out there where you can discuss things other than God's Word and its application to our lives.

Suggesting, counseling or advising someone to seek counseling is not what would be considered 'advise' in the way you are applying it. IOW, you are not "treating" them by advising them to seek counseling.

"How much can we talk about before it needs to be "private"?

Lately it seems the "Guys" and "Girls" sections have lost their focus on, well, guys and girls. Not a big deal - anyone is welcome to read or post on either of course - until you come to something that really should be just between girls. Or guys. Everyone has that point where they may say to themselves, "Hmmmm.... this really is not comfortable", so in a free site like this with men and women of all ages and nationalities and personalities and viewpoints and values --- how can you make the distinction?

You can't. Not for everyone. You can stop reading that thread. You can, if you feel led to, post on the thread your feelings or thoughts about how it should be taken private. Those posts should be respected by all and responded to, if someone feels compelled to, in love. Lately, that part (the last sentence I just typed) has been conspicuously absent from a lot of the threads. It is dismaying to me.

well I believe we should be able to talk about anything here. We are all adults...but sometimes the discussions or comments cross the line of what i would consider appropriate on co-ed boards.

We should be able to say what is on our minds as long as we're mature about it.

Dont cross the lines....

as far as giving advice, if we always lead them to Jesus, there shouldnt be a problem.

now, who wants to talk about sex, drugs n rock & roll ?

(messing with you)

haha:dancingp:
