Women always complain that men never listen to them.

I wonder if you guys ever feel like we (women) never listen to you guys?

I believe this is one of those things that happens in both genders-the girl is'nt listening to him because they're both are in a argument or his discussions sounds boring to her.To the guys the same thing happen the other way, except most of the time they're distracted by the dress she's wearing or got their eyes in looking at her cleavage! I think if they're truly Christians, then they should be honest & work it out together if it gets out of hand at times.

well played sir.

However, something else to consider. Different PEOPLE have different ways they respond to conversation, be they male OR female. I think the popular assumption that women/men don't listen to each other is only partially true when it comes to considering gender differences. The old saw about men being visual and women being verbal in terms of what catches their attention is only partially true.

I'm unlike a lot of men in that I do like to talk and I deliberately practice active listening when I converse with others. In other words, I work hard to listen to what other people say, and that's at both levels with men or women. My job as a direct sales rep for the Whirlpool Corporation demands that I do this, but my work in the Christian ministry since 1983 has been fundamental to that as well. When it comes to romance and dating, I take this seriously yet have fun with it also.

I will say that after a mariage, I have come to learn that I am the sort of man that really likes to hear his woman call his name and express her own affection, appreciation and attraction for me daily. I have come to never assume anything when it comes to love again. I do really miss that relational dynamic more than I should, maybe, but again, that's just me (and I don't think it's wrong, anyway). I can see how that can be an issue however in my expectations with other women and try hard to disconnect that .. and sometimes I even succeed. LOL
