I let them know (not all are scammers) that I do not believe that starting a relationship with someone I have never met and could never meet until we decided to actually be together (who really is going to buy thousands of dollars worth of travel expenses just for a date???) is something I want to risk. To what extent that image which is fully created by your assumptions is feeding your romantic feelings for that person..... If I could picture him with the looks that would normally fully turn me off and still feel the same way, then I would go for it... if not....
