How to Lose a Guy in 10 DaysPosted : 30 Oct, 2010 07:27 PMWhat are some things that a woman could do early on in a relationship that would freak you out and possibly drive you away? (things like posting a link on your Facebook wall of the engagement ring she likes or stashing a box of feminine supplies in your bathroom cabinet or...) |

How to Lose a Guy in 10 DaysPosted : 31 Oct, 2010 10:44 AMI've said this before, but saving intimacy for marriage is about a lot more than just the physical kind. It's frustrating to see people so quick to jump into deep spiritual and emotional intimacy. There needs to be separation early in a relationship so that both can guard their hearts. Spending tons of time together, praying and reading scripture, and opening up deeply and emotionally before you're married, much less before you even know you want to get married is just asking for problems. |

How to Lose a Guy in 10 DaysPosted : 31 Oct, 2010 11:10 AMHow do you really stop emotional intimacy, though, Tulip? I mean, it really just kinda happens. |

How to Lose a Guy in 10 DaysPosted : 31 Oct, 2010 04:38 PMI think emotional intimacy is also difficult to prevent, especially if you tend to be a deep person. It's not like you're going to find people around you every day that are going to humor you in your discussion about the mysteries of grace or the progression of freedom throughout the world; on the other hand, even the shallowest person in the world is not going to be able to talk about TV shows forever. Emotional intimacy just flowers, and it does naturally, as the two come to know one another. Yes, caution is advised, but really, could you even stick to the shallow end of subjects forever? I think I'd go crazy if I tried. |

How to Lose a Guy in 10 DaysPosted : 1 Nov, 2010 03:28 AMI just thought of something 2sparrows, you don't want to get emotionally attached to a woman, but you almost broke down in tears when you sold your horse. I think your priorities are a bit off  |

How to Lose a Guy in 10 DaysPosted : 1 Nov, 2010 07:57 PMEmotional intimacy is going to develop, sure. You just need to be careful how attached you get and how quickly. The more emotional hooks you sink into your significant other's heart, the more it's going to hurt and scar when you tear them out if you break up. For the first month or two of the relationship, it's better to just not get super emotionally involved. That'll come with time. |

How to Lose a Guy in 10 DaysPosted : 1 Nov, 2010 08:03 PMOkay... so, what happens if the hooks have already been sunk? Do you revert to talking about lame stuff like the weather? Like SilverFire pointed out, when two deep people get together, the discussions are deep... and very personal... |
