thank you for your encouragment, I am so sorry that your brothers rejected you, and I know how you feel.
I think essentially what the poem says is God is the blessing, anything else will faill and let you down. A person who has the Holy Spirit super imposed in their life is where it is at, and what I seek :)
I recieved this message and it brought me back to this forum, I'd like to share it...
This is from my notes on this Sunday's service...
Men and women in Jesus and our relationships: In any romatic relationship there is a need of both man and woman, love... and in any life span of a romantic relationship there are ups and downs. We have this longing to help, support, communicate, value and share with each other. Yet for some reason or another we end up hurting each other. So we search for the reason as to why the relationship is falling apart so that we may find comfort in our love once again. We are lost in this area... unless we have Jesus smack dab right in the middle of it. See, us men and woman are different, each designed for a divine reason... to fulfill one another. In order to get to the root of the mystery of man, woman, and Jesus we have to look to the beginning. In Genesis 2:18 God says, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him. He goes on to put Adam to sleep and pull from him his rib and from him he made woman... his helper who is just right for him.
In this sense there is a form of fate, if you will. We are all created for a purpose and that is to love and praise and adore our Father God. We also are granted gifts to which we may best serve the Lord. So if we are called by the Lord, why then would we want just ANY spouse? Or someone who SEEMS to be compatable... Matthew 6:33 ~ Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. (New Living Translation) In order to find love we must go to the one who IS love... Seek God in all things for He knows what is best for you. Trust Him, desire His will in your life... If God has laid out plans for us to do great things all for the glory of God, why wouldn't He design a mate for us to share that journey with? God is all about relationships, it was His design to begin with! The essence of romance is to become one flesh in the eyes of the Lord. Genesis 2:23 ~ At last! the man exclaimed. This one is bone from my bone, and flesh from my flesh! She will be called woman, because she was taken from man. (NLT)
Gordon Dalbey, Christian Author, was our guest speaker this Sunday... he goes on to tell his testimony of being single, admitting to how tough it can be for us and how he started to pray for a woman. As he was praying he says he hears 3 little words... pray for her. So he prays, Lord bring me a woman... and he hears it again, pray for her... this continues until it hits him! Pray FOR the woman that the Lord deems suitable to be his helper! Now, Gordon doesn't know who this woman is, but he obeys... Father, protect the woman you have for me to marry, comfort her, touch her heart today Lord... all the while not knowing who this woman is! Some time passes, he goes out with a friend fo his... and she asks him what the Lord is doing for him in his life, where does he see himself in 5 years. It was put on her heart to go to college majoring in psychology and was on a date prior with a man who planned on buying a cabin in the woods and setting up a bed and breakfast. Although he was a great guy, she couldn't put down the Lords calling on her heart... well, time moves on and Gordon marries her... come to find out later on down the road when looking back at their journals, one the day she was taking her finals, Gordon has this sudden rush of anxiety and knew to pray for his wife to whom he had yet to meet! What faith it takes to be that in tune to the spirit that before you say your nuptials, before you even MEET the one to whom you will marry, you are already interceding on their behalf!!! THAT IS ROMANCE!!! That is the kind of love that I want in my life... not just... someone... as of yesterday... I started praying for my husband...
This message moved me in a way that I can't explain. I pray for those of you reading this that you too are touched by the hands of God in a way that will inspire you to seek God more in all things. In Christ alone we are made whole!!! Amen!!!
