Guys...tell the truth. How many of you believe in Love At First Sight? And for those that do...what is it that may "trigger" that reaction. Is it a smile or a laugh or a look. Perhaps a certain walk or sound of her voice.

Open up guys! I know there are many of you that believe in this phenomena. Also is it possible to get that "feeling" from a photograph?

Ladies feel free to interject your comments and opinions.

Peace

Some great points on this topic. I will have to say even though I don't believe in love a first sight I do believe in chemistry at first sight.

That spark when you first see each other that Archie mentioned is chemistry.

In most cases I can tell on first date if I have chemistry for someone or not and if they have chemistry for me.

Still agree with what the last lady said that true love has to grow and develop. God will cook it up just right for you if u are seeking his will first.

Time hasn't let me down yet. Time will tell. It always does. Love is patient love is kind nothing in there about instant love like in an infomercial.

Probably in truth if I worked at it I could learn to love anybody. This isn't what Im craving though. I don't want to settle in my love. I want to love someone so much like how Jesus loved me that I would be willing to die for them,

I want the kind of head over heels love that when he kisses me my toes curl.

Isn't that the kind of love Jesus Christ had for us, He loved us enough to die for us. That is agape love.

Sometimes it is easy to die for someone, but the true test of love is, can we live a lifetime with and for them?

Oh you all are all hittin' it again! Lady thumper what you wrote about "instant love like in an infomercial" The naive often think love is exactly like that.

I agree the "real" loving is going to take a lifetime and finally culminate into the ultimate love probably when we both die. Just like I'll never be as perfect, sinless as Jesus here on earth, but I'lll be perfect in love and everything else in eternity.

But back to now, so, with determining it's "love at first sight" am I thinking about later in life being with this person too? I mean he may make my toes curl as ladyt says, TODAY, but Ive got to be thinking about later in life too. Will he still make my toes curl at 80. What happens when I we start having aching joints, hip surgeries, false teeth, body can't keep up with mine anymore... well the list goes on and on... Why it's so important to analyze so much more than the physical. Certain things need to be talked about. Love IS patient: Love IS kind... Am I prepared to go the distance with someone, no matter what, no matter how much our bodies change, no matter what the trials, sorrows, and happiness of life might bring, will I always remember there was "love at first sight" in those times too. That's the beautiful and romantic part of living out the love at first sight. * gracemae

David,

No disrespect and you probably misspoke, but it is not "easy" to die for someone. Most parents and lovers will say that they will, but when push comes to shove -- they will do one of two things -- turn and run or stand their ground (ready to die if need be). No one knows what they will do until that moment comes.

That is why I am so amazed and in awe how Jesus knowingly went to His Death for us.

Also the next time you see a sevice person (male or female) thank them....for they also are willing to die for you! For someone they have never met.

Alright....shoot...what were we talking about?

Seriuosly...what was it?

Love at first sight...I have no idea. I think that there can definitely be that "spark" at first sight, and certainly there can be attraction at first sight. And who knows, maybe there can even be love at first sight. But I'd rather have the spark or attraction at first sight, and let the love grow strong and steady over time. The spark might become a flame, but that flame might weaken over time. Attraction might become stronger, but outward appearances can change. Only deep, committed love that is rooted in God will withstand any test that life (or the devil) will throw at a couple.

Oh DEAR! I thought my reply would show up right under Archimedes question! Everyone, Please move it there immediately in your immagination. How embarrassing! That's what I get for being clever...

And as long as I'm posting again, I'd like to share that you really have a GIFT for communicating with a joyful, light spirit that truly invites people to respond. I hope you are blessing your church family with it.

I do believe that it is a love at first sight that i felt and experienced on the first person that i love...

He's my schoolmate in high school and the first time i saw him and every time he's with me my heart beat goes faster.. I could feel the love. I could still remember that I always cried every time i saw him with his gf, every time I knew that he has new gf coz he only wants me as his friend. The first time I meet him I ask God to give this man on me to be my husband someday. As long as I'm single and know that he's still single too I won't stop hoping that we going to be meant for each other someday. I confess that i have a feeling on him until now even if we are far from each other.
