Dudes, do women have handbooks?

I posted this under "Ask a Woman" also.

Do women have handbooks?  I was told by one she was giving me one on how to handle her, meaning how I need to act to be with her. I reserve sarcasm here 🙄. I didn't think any lady had handbooks and have a few thoughts and would like opinions. I think she meant it was a nice gesture and i appreciate it, but then again...? Here's my thoughts:

She likes me and is telling me she wants me to be the one because she has, but also said she won't change

Which means i have to acquiesce when she keeps telling me I could be "the one" but i need to change?

By giving me a "guide" is she telling me how its gonna be and i  have to go by her book, meaning she's controlling?

She's a conceited flake

All the above

Then you meet the other kind.

For example, I don’t like the Founding Father look on women‼️

George Washington or the Thomas Jefferson haircuts—on women—-REALLY⁉️⁉️

Then I’ve had these kind of women wanting to or “thinking about” getting married. But when I mention the hair thing, one lady told me, “I wouldn’t grow my hair for my late husband and I don’t think I’ll do it for you either.”

Well, that’s ok with me, then she needs to find the type of man who doesn’t mind kissing the founding father look.

Some of the same women also like wearing revealing clothing like yogi pants and shorts and low cut blouses.

So far, I haven’t convinced any of them to dress like I do (covered up from the neck down to my ankles). Yes, I’ll be friends but not likely their husband.

Actually, years back, I had a girlfriend who belonged to a religious type similar to Amish (but labled “Brethren”). She dressed in good taste. Good dress doesn’t have to be styled Amish fashion because there’s all kinds of styles that don’t make a woman look like a call girl.

But this young lady (I was once young too), found fault with my military and police ambitions.

She claimed the Bible taught against that kinda thing and gave me a book to read justifying her position.

After I was done with the book, I told her I disagreed and asked if I could explain to her why. She said absolutely no‼️

That was one of the first things that began to tip the scale away from her. This girl wanted to prove her manhood, (curse of Eve), and I would’ve had to behave accordingly

Interesting that she wanted to be handled a certain way (I welcome the advice, but not control) and stated that she wouldn't change. Sounds a lot like my ex.

An old wise man once said, "Men marry women hoping that they won't change and women marry men hoping that they will."

Keep doing the work and learning all you can. The great books on relationships and learning to just listen (solve problems mostly when asked) and lean into problems (address them immediately, instead of putting it off) will do wonders.

Sorry that it didn't work out for you. But, would rather have a slightly high maintenance solid Christian woman than a low maintenance carnal christian woman that belongs to the streets. I've had to readjust my standards in the last couple of years after one got away that seemed ideal, but wasn't ready to deal with kids again (I started late).

God bless your search.

Yes it's called the Bible, it also covers marriage and parenting. As well as life in general and working. Great book I highly recommend it.
