Ruth has her place in the Bible, but I do not recall reading any place that she was a prophetess or even prophesied. She was definitely loyal to both her mother-in-law and to the people of God and to the God of Israel. She did not waver from that course and found her way into the genealogy of Jesus. But I do not see in the Bible that she is a prophet. Mary heard from the Angel Gabriel, but did she hear from the Holy Spirit? Often people say, "The Devil made me do it." Frequently, people say, "God told me." Many divorced women claim to hear from God. A divorced female pastor who had had 5 husbands hit on me once thinking that I would be her husband number 6, but I did not take her word from the Lord. She did however find another husband to minister with her. People often claim words from the Lord that are contrary to scripture. There will be no end to disagreements. As people read the Bible, they will understand it more. More people twist the Bible. People discard many Bible verses. They banned some verses. People pick and choose Bible verses. People certainly end in different places. We all hear a little from the Holy Spirit. But I think that people definitely get away from scripture and end up on the other side of the moon. Post Reply
