Question why is it that when a woman is heavy, they are considered lazy or just don't care about their looks? After six children and a very unhealthy lifestyle, I've decided to change all that and lead a life that exemplifies taking care of God's temple. However still get the "I am looking for a more athletic or healthier person".....please could probably out run and bench press more than some guys.

Bravo...I pray that God will send "You" a helpmate along the way...! When that happens, you truly know it is the real thing! Best wishes on your journey. :) Robin

I looked at your profile and pic and I have to say - you are a knock out!! You have beautiful eyes, and AWESOME smile, and from reading your profile, I'm guessing you have the personality to back it up.

We are all here (or most of us, anyway - some stay for the forums) because we haven't met the person that God has for us. That means there is something about us, whether it be physical, age, or in our personality, that the people we have emailed or chatted with don't think is right for them. And vice-versa. (Some guys want that "girlie girl" that is very feminine and shy - I wouldn't fit that mold in a million years!!)

Don't lose heart - you're working on changing your lifestyle, and even if you would never lose an ounce - there will be someone that will come along that will appreciate you for ALL aspects of you!! And I'm believing the same for me!!

God bless!

Lynn

Linnie,

I so can relate to you. hehe... Cause I am kind of a tomboy, I like to play outside and get dirty. lol And some men will not find that attractive. Oh well, God made me this way and I am sure that He has made a man who will appreciate my willingness to work outdoors.

Wanda, I believe that there is someone out there for everyone, someone who will love us and accept us just the way that we are. So be confident in who you are in Christ and let His love and beauty shine through, and the men will take notice.

YSIC, Lydia

You're all right, there all kinds of men with all kinds of tastes. I read in a book by josh mcdowell years ago when i was a teen aged christian, that its more important to worry about being the right person then finding the right person. You work on yourself, with the lords help, and he will work on the person he has for you and bring them to you when the toaster pops.

you can always hurry up and make a mistake. I have.

Tristan,

Good post my brother. You know so many singles pray for God to send a spouse, but how many of us really pray and ask God to show us the things that we need to change about ourselves, so that we will be prepared when we meet that person?

And you are right, it is easy to rush and make a mistake. It is best to learn to be content in our singleness, and be about His business instead of our own.

Blessings, Lydia

Brothers and Sisters in Christ.

So appreciate you both and your journeys and you willingess to put yourselves out there......truly am settled in "Whose" I am and "who" I am my post was really one of not one of desperation but more so one of opening the eyes of some who are so judgemental....fat equals lazy. I know my Father has a plan for my life and if that means being single till He calls me home I am good with that. That you for your encouragement on the crazy roller coaster called life.

Blessings!

I think what most people misunderstand about the weight issue is that it's not simply mind over matter. Our DNA determines our bone structure and matabolism (sp?) and within those parameters there is only so much one can do.

My older sister, who is actually 30 years older then me, took after my dad, who had a large frame. She is and always has been a very active woman, does not over eat, and is very health conscious, but she remains a large woman, like my dad was a large guy all his life. I took after my mom, I am tall and slender and have to fight to keep weight on, not get rid of it.

But really at the end of the day, it is those eyes you look into, and the heart behind them, and the way it feels when you kiss that tells you that you are happy. Not whether they were able to fit into a pair of size 9 jeans today or not. or if my belt is a little tighter to keep my pants up, bah.

I have always been a large framed girl, from a very young age, I AM very active, I spnd time outside, playing with my grandbaby, swimming, I even workout with my sons weights and exercise everyday, I am just this way, and in my eyes I am the way God intended me to be, he made us all different, BUT be it inside or outside he also ( I believe) gave us all talent, and beauty, there is something special about each and everyone of us, just be happy with who you are, God accepts you, so learn to accept yourself!
