Not wanting to be viewed or contacted by a Filipna

As I run through some posts here, I've read about women my race being discriminated because a number of guys here not wanting to be viewed or contacted by a Filipina, it catches my attention that maybe a lot of men here may have some notable experiences about it. I'm posting this stem for you to cut through some repulsive encounters you got with a Filipina. With your replies, I know, would open some feelings of vulnerability in me and my people but that would really help me understand why some guys here behave as such. Thank you in advance for your replies.

Hey Douglas, what are you talking about? What would Jesus think? I'm sure he would think that it's wise to be practical and informed. I'm not so sure about what you think though. I think guys can get on here and start chatting with Asian women for fun and have no idea what it means to the girl, how she could be hurt or even shamed by his behavior with her. My point was to say that an American man shouldn't be looking for or talking to Asian women if he doesn't know anything about how they think, their culture, or hasn't considered the possible cost and affect of engaging in a conversation or especially, a search.

That's a point about the citizenship thing Buddy, for some reason the rest of the world seems to have a delusion that things are better here. Just so everyone knows THEY AREN'T better here. I too am looking overseas as well as domestically. If the right gal is from another country to me that's a bonus as well, because of how messed up this country has become. The whole world is in an economic recession right now because of this country and the acts of individuals here. Just so the world knows almost half of the able bodied people in this country are now choosing not to work, or look for work, and for the most part live off of the rest of us. Ask yourself, are things that bad in your country? I doubt they are. Not only are the jobs not available to us due to 'cheap' labour sneaking in across the border and taking the work we might have but many of this generation are just lazy and would rather live off a government welfare check. This country isn't even in the top ten of good countries to live any more, and we are the world's second now to China in the size of our economy.

West, too good to be true. Interesting thread. I knew a lady who came from your country once, she said the way people view our country there is like heaven where everything is free. That's of course not true anywhere. As an example perhaps I should post here what some things cost.

Most of us work for minimum wage which is currently $7.25 an hour in most places. In places where it is higher, everything costs more. Where I live things cost very little compared to even the nearby cities.

A gallon of cheap milk: 3-4$ (half an hour's wages)

Twelve eggs: 1.50$ to 2$ (fifteen minutes work)

A pound of cheap beef: 3-4$ (half an hour's wage)

Chicken (per pound) about 2.50$ and up.

One pound of brown rice: about 90 cents (white rice may be cheaper)

Five pounds of potatoes: 3$ and up.

A bottle of cheap wine (750ml) 3$.

One gallon of gas: about 2$ currently. A side note worth saying, where I live you practically can't live without a car and you have to drive to the store and work. Only in the major cities (where everything costs more) do you have decent access to public transit. Thus you have to purchase a car and keep insurance coverage on it and pay for a tag. Not cheap by any means.

Rent on a two bedroom apartment for one month: 900$ and up. (124 hours at work) This rate doubles or triples in the larger cities in my state. In new york city it will cost you 5000$ a month and up for a no-bedroom apartment.

Another side note worth making, most workplaces will not schedule anyone for over thirty hours a week due to new regulations the government imposed. If you are lucky enough to get scheduled for thirty hours, this means you're only making 217.50$ a week. Obviously in order to afford a place to live and food to eat as well you're going to have to share your apartment with another person or get two jobs.

1mountain bro..

true.. a lot of pinays view ur country as such..

one main reason is that ... many men from ur country are here now in philippines who had married pinays.... most of them are treated well by their husbands and lavish them with material things and comforts....that is if they're here in philippines...a dollar is 45pesos equivalent... so ur dollar will make a long way here if u gona live here...but i know that its the other way around when they live their in ur country....i have several friends their in US who tell me..its not great to be in the western world....for so many reasons..and i understand all those.... i can't really speak what other filipinas think and feel but i can speak my own mind here now...and that is what i think and see as my observation of the happenings here...... and sorry to say..to be in the western world does not fascinate me most...

peace..

I'm very thankful to be in the USA ... but economically we have come down a peg or two the last few years. If I were starting now, I know I'd have more difficulty getting into the job market than I did 15 years ago.

"I think the main complaint centres around people not getting enough messages from near them, and getting so much attention from so far away." Righto!

Come to think of it, CDFF members can always choose to "Block users outside of their country" from their Account Settings. This is an effective way of handling unwanted messages. Though it's not a good idea e.g. if the user is from the US and wants to be contacted by someone from Europe.

"I don not really know the stat of Filipinas here in cdff.... we are quite a number here ..."

Indeed we are many! Roughly, there are 15,460 Filipinas in CDFF (not counting those who are outside of the Philippines and we are everywhere! LOL). Other Asian countries only have less than 500 members here. I'd understand the frustration :))

I find no fault in men who do not want to be contacted by women of different nationality; it's their prerogative. But then, I can't help but think it could be their loss. Why not give it a try? Maybe one out of those 200 women could be a potential partner, a gem. If not, we can always be friends, right?
