There will be a question in here at some point ha I was talking to a guy for a while on here and he asked me what I was doing and I told him that I was packing up my old school room stuff from when I was homeschooled. I'm keeping it all in the hopes of homeschooling my kids in the future. His response was I would never make my kids "suffer" through that and some other very hateful things about homeschooling about how we can't function in the "real world" and all this junk. Which obviously stung a little with me because I was homeschooled from 3rd - 12th grade and turned out just fine.

It was a great experience for me. I had fun, I was able to learn at different paces for different subjects, I took classes, I went to proms, dances, parties, student councils, outings, meetings and met most of my best friends that way. I felt extremely prepared for life. When I graduated I went through college great. Yea there were things I wasn't exposed too. A few movies I didn't watch, some artists I didn't listen to and some situation I had to deal with. There's a different between being sheltered and brought up in a Christian home that has en emphasis on a Biblical life.

That guy was not the first guy on here that quit talking to me because of my homeschooling. In life I find that most times it's guys that are so against it. Why all the hate against it?

I was told by someone on this site that I should take that off my profile because no one is going to want to talk to me if I put it on there. He said I shouldn't "spring" it on someone. I have it right at the top of my profile now. So I guess my other question is does it discourage you from sending a message if it says I'm homeschooled? I want someone to like me for me but at the same time since some people do stereotype homeschoolers in a very bad way it may benefit me to leave that big of info off so someone gets to know me first and know that I'm just the same as everyone else in terms of functioning fine in life and then I'll "spring" it one them.

LOL to Rambo and Kev. I don't know any people personally who are opposed to homeschool, in fact most of those I know are for it. Are these people from overseas? Some overseas school systems are much better than ours. For instance in Latvia they learn three languages all the way through.

I was schooled at home all the way through. It was a great experence for me as well. I learned countless things that regular schoolchildren don't get taught and most importantly I learned to teach myself things. This has come in very handy in adult life, allowing me to just read books and learn about anything I want and how to do anything I want.

Funny I do photography and graphic design too as hobbies. Long story short no homeschool wouldn't scare me away. Your age preferences would lol While I will say it took me a while to socially adjust, and realise there's a lot of people with very bad motives I'm glad I was educated at home. There's plenty of things that my parents could have done to prepare me socially for the rest of the world that would have mitigated that. I'd ignore those two guys as flukes, I think most of us would consider it a good thing.
