Posted : 3 Dec, 2013 05:20 PM I have to concur on the interpretation of Don Quixote being a hopeless romantic...he was a knight errant also...he did the doing part...he slew lions and fought giants to affirm love... it is in the affirmation of the construct of love outside of eros and agape that the romantic resides, the hopeless romantic wants it to be that way all the time otherwise he finds no satisfaction in the mundane banality of his life. Posted : 7 Dec, 2013 11:32 AM I think a hopeless romantic is one whom is infatuated with the feelings brought on by intimate relations.Not necesarily sexual contact but that is one form.Somemone who holds on to romatic notion.Since Love is and ACTION and not a feeling,a hopeless romantic tends to be incapable of true Love because they aren't Loving someone,they are feeding off the feelings of being loved.They tend to drain you and never refill your loving cup.Now of coarse thats not a blanket statement,there are exceptions. This "Being in Love" or "Falling in Love" in my personal opinion is a humanistic,maybe even satanic version of Real Love.Since Love is an action,a doing,it is never spoken of as a feeling in the Bible,only occassional as a feeling of being Loved.Or the feeling of someones actions of Love towards you. Love is a Verb,plain and simple....It is what you do or don't do for another which brings them closer to God or makes thier lives better with no expectation of personal return. Otherwise God could not command us to Love Him or eachother!It is a choice we make,not a feeling we feel! Post Reply

I think if more people, including me, would remember love IS a choice, we could work through so many issues. When the "feeling" fades, when struggles come, we need to remember and react in actions and attitudes of love...even when it's tough. Post Reply

Posted : 7 Dec, 2013 05:26 PM Come to think of it, and I know folks will correct me if I'm wrong but, there is no where in His Word that we are to "like" our neighbor, the brethren or humanity, for that matter! He specifically told us to just simply "LOVE"!!! To CHOSE to do so unconditionally!!! Who we like or dislike is on us! Isn't God awesome!? Post Reply
