Can anyone please answer me this? Why is it so hard for a man to accept that a woman is not having sex before marriage, and Im seeing it more often now in christian men. Just something I have been dealing with for awhile. Any advice and explanations are welcomed. Be Blessed!!!

I see the same problem in "Christian" women. Among many other sins. "Christian" seems like a fad instead of a religion. I wonder how many self-proclaimed "Christians" have actually read the Bible?

Two reasons:

1) Some are Christian by name only. They think they believe, but don't really. They know what God wants of them, but consciously put their own wants higher. Strange example: If you believed you were about to be struck by a train, you'd step off the track instead of continuing to walk on it.

2) Christians know they are forgiven for their sins and that they will continue to be forgiven. Some people use this as a green light to do whatever they want, as it's going to be forgiven anyway. Others remember to not test the Lord.

Hello Sister,

I am replying as a man who has been celibate his whole life. I am 30 years of age and I have never "known" a woman. I am a virgin. I intend on remaining this way until I am married in the sight of God Himself. It is very troubling that so many Godly men are struggling with sexual desires, porn, sinful and lustful thoughts, as we are all (men and woman alike) constantly fed sexual images and innuendos each day and everywhere we go.

I think that the mindset of the world has polluted and contaminated so many minds about what truly defines a relationship, especially one with Christ at the center. I think some men rise under the banner of being Godly, but they really have ill intents. I think that the men who are truly Godly can, like any other human being, fall into temptation and sin by giving into temptation in a bad situation. Men and women alike must guard themselves against situations like that. I myself am not immune to this. I can fall just as easily as a carnal man who does not know Christ or recognize the war between the flesh and Spirit.

For both men and women, I feel that it all comes down to the true desires of that person. The minute that person tries to violate God's standards with you and your body, that should set off alarms. Especially if it is a blatant disrespect for what you stand for. There was a girl once who I was very interested in, who tried to have sex with me after I clearly stated that I want to wait. She took that as a challenge to try and "get" me, which greatly upset me, so I had to walk away from her and that situation because she did not respect my relationship with God, and she did not respect me.

I hope this helps although I know how hard it is for all of you sisters.....but there are brothers who are truly submitting his body to the Lord! Not all of us want you self gratification. Be encouraged :) God Bless!

first of all i think its unfair to say that only men expect sex before commitment. i think its pretty equal from both sides. but who is to blame? turn on the tv, the radio, open a magazine or newspaper and sex is every where. it seems we are raised to believe that sex is more important than love, or that sex gives some kind of social standing or ego boost.

Amen about the young man who is a virgin!!! That is the best way, to follow the Lord~~ My spiritual mama is in her 70's and a virgin never been married,,,, she waited upon the Lord, but the Lord himself will be her bridegroom, as he will be ours!!

Temptation is just that something that tempts us to sin, but with Jesus we can say NO!!! Don't put yourself in that position to begin with!

Stay accountable, to the Lord for all things, for he is even here when we are online ;) And sees our hearts desires, take care brothers and sisters and wait for the right one. Better to have none than to get with someone who is not the Lord's choice for you.

It is how God made us to be.Sexual feelings, needs and challenges are normal for both Christians and others .Abstinence is done by the grace of God.It is a sign that we have feelings and care must be taken to avoid being in a tempting environment.
