Guys, are you more or less inclined to attempt communication with someone that does not want children? I am just wondering how is that perceived by the guys on this site.
One could argue that in a world of 7 billion people, it is actually selfish for us to want to create more children. So I can't speak ill of those that don't want any, since there is no need for any.
No, that is not true, a lot of people don't want children for many reasons, and does not have to do with whether they trust God or not.
Also, saying America can feed the whole world is silly, too. You do actually realize the farming methods to create that mass amount of food is actually destroying the Earth and is not sustainable, and even with our high production, we still aren't feeding the world, since people are dying from starvation every day. Just because you can produce a lot, does not mean it is magic and everyone eats.
And if everyone in the world was jampacked into Texas, they would not each have an acre. Texas does not have 7 billion acres of land, it has less than 200 million acres, which a lot is dry land, that would not support people.
So I'm just going to assume you are part of the quiverfull movement that doesn't use logic as their basis.
Most people cram themselves into smal areas of land.
there are 640 acres in a square mile
there are 268,580 square miles in texas
there are 3,790,000 square miles in the usa
total acres in texas =171,891,200
total acres in the usa = 2,425,600,000
canada has 9,984,670 so everyone could have an acre in that country. thats around 6,390,000,000 acres. canada is huge by the way but much of it is inhabital
No. Actually, anyone can post on this site, regardless of whether or not they agree with you.
Your over-spacing and made-up spiritual authority is creepy. Your accusations of "if you don't agree with me, YOU DON'T AGREE WITH THE BIBLE" are creepy. They are cultish.
Your answer is not "biblical" just because you cite some verses out of context, nor is there necessarily a biblical answer to having kids. The decision to have children or not depends on the people involved.
I did not meat to open a can of worms up in here with that question. Since I was 12, I have not desired children of my own. In over 20 years I have never changed my mind. Knowing that the Bible teaches that one should take care of the widows, poor, and orphans in the OT, and that Jesus himself said we would always have the poor; I would be inclined to consider adoption of a child. That is depending on the Lord providing me a husband to raise a child in a good home.
I recognize that most people I know want children. I respect their opinion and choice. Some would argue that Christianity would die out without Christians reproducing more Christians. By the way, I recall reading that Muslims have many kids and the disparity in their birth rates as compared to Christians is significant.
Some people want children but have physical challenges that would prevent a pregnancy. I respect and acknowledge their desire for a family and wish them luck if they choose to adopt a child that needs a family.
