His response was that guys don't seek out female friends. He couldn't really give me an answer as to why not. I think he's right because I've seen personal ads on other sites where men will basically say 'not looking for friends' or 'don't respond if you only want a pen pal.' But, I'm wondering ... WHY? If neither person is seeing anyone and you could do social things with a female that you enjoy the company of but have no interest in- why wouldn't you? Also, I guess my question would be directed more toward older guys ... as younger guys in their teens and 20's still seem to have friends that are women, but single men in their 40-50's don't. It is very heartbreaking finding someone who you get along so well with, but they can only see you as a brother. It�s hard to explain, but it�s very difficult to be �just friends�, guys don�t understand it. If you never take the chance, you will never be hurt. Post Reply

And afterwards can I borrow You and your truck to move a freezer, refrigerator, washer, dryer, stove, couch, bedroom set? And if we have time later we can go shopping! And if we happen to do something fun, I get to pay for it....All for the pleasure of your company and 'maybe' some home baked cookies. Tell you the truth I steer clear of women friends my age, they are to much work. Almost all my female friends are in their 20's who share similar interests, they usually don't have stuff to take care of and if they do, they have guys their own age to do it. They like to flirt and give really good hugs! Post Reply

There's no romantic feelings between either of us. My Best Friend is a guy, but my female friends are great. I don't see a problem with it. Maybe they're special, cause they don't ask me to do the things Two described! LOL Post Reply

Independent? ..... and didn't need you to help with anything then- *cough* :winksmile: I have a house and I have those things taken care of and wouldn't use a male friend for household repairs. In their way of thinking they don't "need" a man when they have male friends to do their husband things. This is how they retain their "independence " *cough* :winksmile: Post Reply

I don't think about being romantic with them although I give them cards and gifts and they know I am available when they need me for support. I actually have more female friends than male friends. Men are difficult for me to get along with because they are very unreliable and unable to commit to anything more than showing up for a beer. . . and even then they're late. Thunder Post Reply
