FAKIN IT?....HMMMMPosted : 19 Apr, 2011 11:13 PMHave you ever been "slain in the spirit," fainted when the Pastor lays hands on you in a prayer line (usually)? |

FAKIN IT?....HMMMMPosted : 20 Apr, 2011 06:47 AMI've never experienced anything close to that. I won't say that it's all fake, but I do worry that many people are much more focused on seeking the gifts of the Spirit than the Giver himself. |

FAKIN IT?....HMMMMPosted : 20 Apr, 2011 07:27 AMTulip89, thanks. I haven't actually experienced it either, but I know some people who have. I've gotten different answers from different people about what the experience entailed. |

FAKIN IT?....HMMMMPosted : 20 Apr, 2011 07:41 AMI believe that it is a real phenomenon. I have felt the lightheadedness from His anointing once and fought against it because I didn't want to fall. The Holy Spirit doesn't ever force Himself and I was able to stay on my feet. |

FAKIN IT?....HMMMMPosted : 20 Apr, 2011 07:53 AMNope, I've never been "Slain in the Spirit." I do know that I'm filled with the Spirit, though! |

FAKIN IT?....HMMMMPosted : 20 Apr, 2011 08:14 AMI have, but I think it was just psychological. Big loud crazy guy walks up to you and says "BOOM" and I see everybody else in the line go down one by one when he does this so yeah, got light headed, and passed out. I'm pretty sure I was out for only a couple of seconds, and then I just got up like "huh.." and walked on. I will come out and say I do doubt it since there's no Biblical reference to it anywhere and it's probably a marketing stunt by whatever evangelist is in town and perpetuate a group trance since nobody knows what it means or how it is beneficial. That's what I think. |

FAKIN IT?....HMMMMPosted : 20 Apr, 2011 08:31 AM"I don't think they are all lying or faking it, but I also know how hard some of them have to work to get all hyped-up and emotional so that they can speak in tongues, "fall out", faint, etc. When they can't achieve that for some reason, they start to doubt their salvation, or fear that God is upset with them, or worry that other people will think they aren't spiritual enough...so yes, some of them admit to faking it." |

FAKIN IT?....HMMMMPosted : 20 Apr, 2011 03:14 PMYears back when I was in my mid teens, I used to go a pentecostal (AoG I think it was) church young-peoples group and when this became news they did a session of praying for us teenagers and I remember when they came up to me, they said a few lines and tried pushing me backwards. I didn't go. They tried again and again to push me back but everything in my spirit was telling me this was wrong and I refused to fall back. They gave up and moved on to the next person. |
