A message is much more personal and you might get more responses that way. If I have looked a profile than I think I would rather get a wink though to show that your an active user, but I don't mind a message. Sometimes I don't send messages because I am not sure if they are an active user. Personally sometimes I wait to see if they look at my profile before I message them, but that's me. Post Reply

Posted : 9 Apr, 2011 10:39 PM For whatever reason, people seem to have the natural reaction that if the girl messages the guy first, she's pursuing him and that he won't be able to lead the relationship. The way I look at a message, it's just her saying hi. I think winks are silly, since if you're going to make the effort to wink at someone, you might as well message them. Also, people have different understandings of what a wink means, but a message is much more clear. When it comes to messages, go ahead and send the kind of message you'd want to receive. You probably don't like one line messages from guys, so don't send one of those to us! Post Reply

I'm just not much of a winker in everyday life, (although an Englishman called me a wanker one time, but I don't think that's the same. Haha!) so I don't hardly ever wink at a guy on here unless I'm "getting to know" him better and then I just do it to try to be cute. The closest thing I'd do in real life is smile at a guy because I'm just old fashioned. :) Post Reply

However, I personally like to wink first, that way they can check me out, and if they are not interested, it's not so much a let down. If I message- put and interest in the person, and then have no response- I tend to take it a little more personally. Silly I know!
