I always had trouble dating cause when I was in my teens I made a promise to God to wait and remain abstinent and i'm proud to say I have keep my promise . The problem is guys say they " respect" my decision but after a couple of days they are trying to get in my pants. I believe if the guy truely cares about me and respects my decision . Post Reply

Just think how awful it would be for these young men not to be exposed for who they are and you end up with one! However, I sympathize with you....get your hopes up for a guy then he pulls that on you, it would be disheartening after awhile. When I got older, he added to that. He elaborated that if a girl became pregnant and was an unmarried mother, this would hurt her. Being a single momma of a child with no father would cause the woman pain. Therefore, no man who loved her would put her in that position. He also talked some about emotional investments and the pain it would cause to invest so much in someone without commitment. Strangely enough, the first time a guy tried to pressure me into sex, he said if you love me, you will. The words were so ludicrous I burst out . When I stopped gasping for air with mirth, I told him that if he loved me, he would not be asking this of me. My daddy was a wise man. He gave me the tools to protect myself from a lot of harm. He also helped put things in perspective for me in a way I could understand. This is a tough world we live in. Stick to your convictions. The right guy will appreciate it. Post Reply

I have had the same experience with women who claim to be Christian. It really does show you where their heart is. The gift you are saving for the right man and time is much more than just physical purity. You will not have all the baggage that most of us carry around. God bless you for this, and He will.
