what might be your definition of a good communication;

what are the most important aspects of it?

are there any differences concerning gender specifics?

While we know that good communication ranks up their with women in a relationship with a man, it`s not as high a priority with men.

Women are motivated by what they hear and men are motivated by what they see.

You can't build a stong, long lasting relationship based on what you see.

As Ive grown older,communication has become more of a priority for me,I mean,what good is having a marraige partner if you cant share your expeiriences with her,your hopes,dreams,fears,ect.

Most meaningful communication is non-verbal.

Communication has always been important to me. I feel that if I can't share my dreams, goals, ideas, etc, with someone then I feel stifled and eventually I look for someone with whom to share them.

Commendable Silverfire...your future one will be a blessed girl!

There is a room in the house designated for plenty of non-verbal, so when you want help fixing that fence, figuring out how to pay the bills, where a dream trip would be, etc....TALK

Communication starts with first making sure you have the other persons Attention. Many a conversation has gone awry because that was never established and one person was just talking to the wall. So first you have to make sure that the person you are speaking to is listening then

You have to make sure that you listen to their response (do not be thinking of your response while they are speaking) and then respond in a clear, lucid, controlled manner.

Attention is Essential and no conversation will work if it is not present.

Without communication (verbal) we are left to arbitrarily trying to deduce what a person wants or needs or desires from body language. It dose not work!

While I do believe that women have a larger vocabulary then most men do (in general) and therefore are better communicatorswe men still need to use words in communicating.

Women may have a larger vocabulary, the problem is they don't always say what they mean.

For Example;

"Do these pants make my butt look big?"....could mean ;

"Do these pants make my butt look big?"

or

"Tell me I look good in these pants."

or

"Tell me you find me attractive"

or

"Tell me you haven't noticed I've gained weight with out actually saying it."

To: Archimeds,that is so true! This is my thing on it also: If it occurs in here (as it does with me) then they should let you know & not let you waste time writing to them.I've now realized that some women on here (not all as i've said) seems to only want to "communicate" with you because they're bored & the main person or even people that they want to talk with did'nt "contacted" them lately so that's why they talk with you a while, & then suddenly they do'nt no longer read or respond to your messages. (anyway,that was a little off-topic).On topic,Communication is the most important thing in our lives.It's the best way to get helpful information,educating & most important, when your in trouble,need help or even not happy.That's my view on communication.To Two Sparrows:ROFL:,It would help would'nt it?:laugh:
