A message for TwoSparrows...

Would you please copy and paste this message to TwoSparrows (Chuck) for me?

Definition of SARCASM

1: a sharp and often satirical or ironic utterance designed to cut or give pain

2a : a mode of satirical wit depending for its effect on bitter, caustic, and often ironic language that is usually directed against an individual

By the definition of saracsm, it would be impossible for Jesus to be sarcastic. Within His character, it would be impossible for Him to intend to "cut or deliberately cause pain."

"Bitter & caustic" attitudes are sinful and Jesus cannot sin. Some misinterpretation of Jesus' words and actions have taken place. Please encourage everyone to reexamine the scriptures that they believe are Jesus being sarcastic. Again, by definition IMPOSSIBLE!

Ex. when Jesus called the Pharisees whitewashed tombs and a brood of vipers, that isn't sarcasm, that is metaphor and honest metaphor without hurtful intent. His intent was to enlighten for the purpose of salvation. We have to interrpret scripture by God's heart, not human heart. Merry Christmas!!!

Who asked you to copy and paste the message to twosparrows?

Someone too fearful to speak for themselves?

Or do you always talk to yourself like that?

That was a former member of the forums. She has deleted her account.

It is not that she is just too afraid to say it in public.

Springrose,

Matthew 15:26 "He [Jesus] replied "It is not right to take the childrens bread toss it to their dogs"

Where does the idea come from that God doesn't cause or allow pain or hurt?

Hebrews 12:6-11 "...the Lord disciplines those he loves and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son........ God disciplines us for our good that we may share in his holiness. No discipline seems pleasant at the time but painful later on however it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those you have been trained by it"

I would not call Jesus sarcastic, however it appears on occasion He used it to accomplish what He thought best.

To say that just because something causes hurt or pain it is not from God is not scriptural. But it is scriptural to say anything from God that causes hurt or pain is for our own good because He loves us.

somehow my message did not go through the first time.

I doubt Sringrose wrote this. She has left the forums and has no reason to return. She emailed me and told me why she was leaving before she left.

It is unwise to call people out friend, it causes more trouble than it is worth.

Now maybe would be a good time to post this:

Matthew 10:34 ~ "Do you not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword."

I think if Jesus were here in the flesh in our time He would not go along to get along. I think He he would treat the Catholic church and a few others the same way he treated the Pharisees 2000 years ago. I think he would differentiate between doctrine and the person as he did with Nicodemus.

There are many Christians with different beliefs on this forum and for the most part we all get along. A good example would be myself and 'Don'tHitThatMark' ; we have different views on the sabbath, and have even discussed it with no arguing or fighting or judging or sarcasm. Contrast that with others and you will find they they either belong to "the only true church" or have been given the "only true interpretation of scripture".

There is only one person who can say 'my way or the highway'..... that would be Jesus
