Posted : 6 Nov, 2010 01:50 PM It means to take your hands off a situation and let God do His thing! : ) For example, a prayer...you have prayed about an issue BUT you are doing all YOU can to make it happen...... well "let go and let God" would be to : say the pray, lay it at God's feet and allow HIM to answer it in HIS way and in HIS time. You (the person who prayed) need to take a backseat and rest.... well that's my interpretation of the saying! :winksmile: Post Reply

Posted : 6 Nov, 2010 02:15 PM My interpreptation is "thy will be done" from the Lords' Prayer.In other words, let him work everything out for you instead of trying to do things on your own.That way you don't have anyting to regret or worry about.Another interpretaton is that there are some things in our life that needs to to be removed:waving: that so that God can work it out for us. By the way, that reminds me of that beautiful old song "he's working it out for you" by Pastor Shirley Ceasar.Is anyone out there who knows the song? Post Reply

This phrase was said to me as a wonderful help when I was so frightened of the news of some tests I've started (to do with my health.) It took soooo much stress off to know God truly is in control, not me. No matter how much I worry or fret the next step I need to walk through, I can not add nor take away a day of life for me. Only God knows my time to come home. So, although at times I have to do this daily (as I tend to take back the worry I just gave to God) I do my best to unclentch my grip and let go (to give it up to God) and I let God do His work on my behalf. Posted : 7 Nov, 2010 04:32 PM twosparrows ... you "old geezer" ... are you flirting with aly again?!!! :ROFL::ROFL::ROFL: Getting back on topic ... yes, aly, impatience is one of the hardest things I have to deal with and "let go" of too in my life, so take heart, K? It seems I can't be TOO patient for God, He keeps making me WAIT on so many things, it seems ... and this has been a lifelong "my grace is sufficient" lesson He's been teaching me while He shows me He is trustworthy and ALWAYS in control of the good and the bad things that have happened to me in my life, so ... even though we should be actively involved WITH God in doing OUR part to make certain things happen and better in our lives, we must always be aware of and sensitive to His heart, will, plan, desires and workings in each new day of our lives that He has made for His love and blessings to bring us peace and joy in the midst of everything and anything we have to be patient and trust Him about!!!
