does length of time since last relationship matter?Posted : 19 Oct, 2010 09:02 PMOK, so I've already mentioned in a post earlier today that I haven't dated in a while (5 years this December, but who's counting) - and , no, I don't count meeting for the first time for 10-minute coffee to check each other out as a date. |

does length of time since last relationship matter?Posted : 19 Oct, 2010 10:04 PMIf you have a poor memory I'll be like your very first boyfriend! And I don't have to endure the embrassing moment when you accidently call me by your old boyfriends name. And no jealous ex's writing obscenities on either of our cars. And no accidentally running into your ex at a nice restaurant, having him ask who is the ugly as* ho** you're with. And no comparing who holds hands, hugs or kisses better. And. . .No need to go on. . .. .I'm.sold. . .Will you marry me? |

does length of time since last relationship matter?Posted : 19 Oct, 2010 10:23 PMI'd say the only time it matters is if it's only been a short time since your last relationship. Wounds would be fresh, feelings would be confused, etc. |

does length of time since last relationship matter?Posted : 20 Oct, 2010 04:28 AMI agree with DHTM. If the amount of time is short, that's a warning sign. Not dating for a while doesn't have the same impact. It might make guys wonder, but it's not a negative. |

does length of time since last relationship matter?Posted : 20 Oct, 2010 11:23 AMI agree with everyone else. I don't think a long period of time matters. But I think if you'd been dating someone or in a relationship recently, that would be more of an issue for the reasons everyone has listed so far. I tried dating someone recently after getting out of a bad relationship and it messed up everything with a really great guy and now we're not even friends anymore. I had too many issues and ended up intentionally driving him away. Now it has been 3 years and I have totally moved on and am ready to date again. I have met people, but like you alycorn I don't consider the brief first meeting to be an official date. |

does length of time since last relationship matter?Posted : 20 Oct, 2010 06:09 PMDeedee - that's kinda the thing I've heard - what's the matter with you if no one has dated you in that long a while? Sometimes makes you wonder - so what is the matter with me? Don't worry - I know that's just the devil messing with me. God loves me, and even if I'm single for the rest of this life, there will be no feelings of inadequacy or loneliness with my man Jesus! |

does length of time since last relationship matter?Posted : 21 Oct, 2010 06:13 AMOh yeah - the 'ole "You've been single HOW long?" and then the slant-eyed look. Yeah, like it is just fine and dandy to go from girl to girl to girl (or guy to guy) for years with no relationship lasting more than 5-6 months! THAT'S ok, but being single more than a couple of years is not? What's wrong with THAT? |
