If you call a girl for the first time and she has a 900# sounding voice, what kind of affect does that have on you?

How about if her voice is unpleasant sounding?

Do you form opinions of women based upon their voices? Would you stop liking a woman because of her voice? Would her voice make you like her more?

Or, how about this... If you accidentally dial the wrong # and you get the voice mail of a girl with a 900# sounding voice, would you leave a message asking her out or asking her to call you back... something along the lines of, "If you look as sexy as your sound, we should go out."

If a woman's voice is causing men to stumble, should she have someone else record the message on her voice mail?

Sorry... lots of questions, I know... Basically, I just want to know how Christian men react to women's voices. Discuss away!

I would like to know the answers as well. I have always felt like my voice sounded too "childish" and many people think I sound much younger than I am. I have begun trying to speak in a lower tone, but when I was at work answering phones, a customer told me he thought he had dialed the wrong number because I sounded like one of "those girls." It was a little disconcerting. I am really interested in what you guys think and your answers to pixy's questions. Great thread pixy!!

Thanks, cowgirl. I've been told that I sound really young too, but mostly I just get embarrassing comments about how sexy I supposedly sound. I changed my voice mail to sound kinda silly/sing-songy, but that hasn't helped any. Even my own mother says that it sounds like I'm trying to pick up clients by my message. At my former job, I answered phones quite a bit too and got comments from guys quite frequently. And I get guys who've dialed the wrong # asking me out too... My voice is a bit hoarse and froggy sounding tonight, though!

Maybe put something "scary" on your voicemail? I can't think what it would be, but maybe if you sound scary you won't sound like a 900# girl anymore, hahaha

This one gets a little close to home for me. If I call a girl for the first time and her voice is breath, husky, seductive, it would be difficult for me to carry on a conversation. I have done things in the past that I'm not proud of and so there's (unfortunately, still) a strong correlation between those kinds of voices and physical pleasure. Even if nothing untoward happened while we were talking, I would be tempted to complete the circuit, as it were.

I have given up pursuing women based on their voices. I'm not particularly proud of that one, either, but voices are part of what draws us or repels us to and from one another. (I do put less stock in voice than I used to, because a phone voice cuts out certain frequencies -- mostly the lower tones.)

If I dialed the wrong number and got a seductive voice, I'd probably just apologize nervously and hang up. *laughs* No way would I leave a message saying that we should go out. Heck. The person could be a psychopath for all I knew!

I have issues/concerns about my voice, as well, but I think there's nothing you can really do about it. I wouldn't ask someone else to record my voice message. I do have a snarky home phone message that I change on a weekly basis. I'd swear that BOA keeps calling my house just to hear the updated messages!

Hi, pixy!!! :hearts:

A BAREFOOT GOOD QUESTION!!! :applause::applause::applause:

For me, it's not so much how a woman's voice sounds, literally, but HOW she uses her voice in expressing the love of God in her heart and in her life ... how she treats others, especially a guy interested in her like she's inerested in him, with her voice!!! ... is she sweet and kind or tart and bossy? Is she self-sacrificing and patient or selfish and impatient? Does everything have to be HER way or ELSE or is she willing to let YOU be YOU without getting all bent out of shape that you don't always see or do things the way she does or would? Does this come out DRAMATICALLY through her voice?!!! ... These are some of the things that can make a woman's voice attractive or unacttrative to a guy, no matter how it may, literally, sound otherwise, pixy.

Our voices are just one part of what God has given us.They should be used to glorify Him. We should get to know the persons HEART and not pre-judge.

Let me share...I am a guy who has been told he has a nice voice. I can share with you, that the reactions of woman are wide. I work as a technician,so I talk to the call center and to custmrs. Most women are polite and professional. Some can be,quite flirty. As God has created all of us as individuals,we are responsible with how we respond or use our own bodies.

I gave my heart to Christ at age 26. As a youg boy growing up,I had always liked guitar. God took that desire and molded His clay into someone He could use. Because of my background,He had alot to re-work in my heart. He is God and I am not. Everything seemed to go real fast as I look back.I started going to pastors conferences,God bought me a guitar,I started singing in the childrens ministry...wow!

God took me places I never imagined He would. To see little children raise the hands up to worship Him at such a young age...priceless! He used my voice to calm their hearts, when they would cry.I went nursing homes and read the Word to people, who couldn't even open their eyes,God used me to comfort them. I went to homeless shelters to share how Christ love wooed me into His kingdom...so you see...I am His..my voice is His...to be used to glorify Him! :-)

So when a woman begins to walk outside of where God allows me to walk..I respond kindly...and say thank you,and move on. For I am His,for the price He paid for me is too great for comprimise.

I've only had one guy comment on my voice. He's not from the south, but likes a good southern accent. Anyway, he told me "Oh wow...you DO have a southern accent!" Like he was surprised! Come on...I'm from GEORGIA!
