My most fond memories would have to be when i was about 10 yrs old and my family would have huge get togethers at the park and have barbeques and play softball! us kids would have a great time rolling down the grassy hills in the park! Miss those days.

Too many to count! Almost all had something to do with family.

I do remember after we moved to California when I was 1 year old, it snowed. Very rare for the Bay Area. I remember being very little (3? 4? 5?) and being bundled up by my Mom to go outside, and she let me go out to the front yard all_by_myself! I ran out onto the grass, which was all white, enjoying the fresh crisp air and the snow. I ran down the front lawn, and turned and looked back, because I knew my Mom would be watching from the front window (ain't no way SHE was going to go out in the cold, uh huh) and there she was, watching and waving. I felt safe and warm and was happy.

The night my first son was born. I'll never forget holding him in the nursery and feeding from a small bottle right after he was born. My favorite thing to do was to hold my son while he went to sleep.

My most cherished memories are those memories that I have of my dad. I remember coming home from a long trip to visit my grandparents, and he'd bought and assembled a bicycle for me...my first one! And he taught me how to ride it, too. I remember how much time he put into building a house for our family. I remember when he had to spank me and he cried harder than I did, and then he told me how much he loved me even when I was disobedient, and how Jesus loved me too, enough to die for me. I remember how our cat wouldn't sit in anyone's lap except for his. I remember how every day when he got home from work, he kissed my mom and hugged me and my sisters.

I remember the last words he said to me: "Goodnight Beth, I love you." A few hours later he passed away of a massive heart attack. He was only 47. I was 12.

To be completely honest, I'm always making cherished memories.

That being said, there are a couple stand-outs from the rest; like August of 2008, our Vehicle Rescue team got 3rd in the entire Region, so we had a party up at the Captain's house to celebrate. We were all sitting around the camp fire and the Cap had the satelite radio in his log truck plugged in and "All Summer Long" by Kid Rock came on the airwaves and everyone on the team was just sitting there singing along to it and smiling. It's a night--and weekend--I'll never forget...Even the training nights in the wrecking yard brought cherished memories.

Another one would be building our new deck--or front porch depending on your definition--with my father this year.

What a good question.

I have many memories I will always treasure, but among some of my favorites are:

The Sunday drives with my father when I was little. He would stop at the store and buy us a coke and peanuts and we would just drive around in the country in our red '66 Impala and look at the cows and pretty countryside

.

The summers with my grandmother.

The day I got my first car.

The morning my son was born and I held him for the first time as he squeezed my finger and looked up at me all wide-eyed and red faced.

The day I saw a certain person :waving: online and just knew I had to get to know her better.

I loved reading your hearts cherished memories, thank you all for sharing. I

look forward to reading more.

For me...

I cherish the memories of my mom and I.

I remember when leaving to walk to school and I'd look back, there my mom

would be waving and blowing me a kiss from the family room window.

When I had chicken pox, my mom bundled me up and we went for a walk

outside and we smelled the wonderful fresh Jasmine.

Being a young woman going clothes shopping and lunch with my mom.

Sharing gut level laughter with my mom.

I miss you mom! I thank God for choosing you to be my mom, and I look

forward to one day seeing you again. I love you always and forever.
