Admin	Question... When it comes to TV Shows or Ratings as PG13 Movies, How far is to far? Posted : 14 Sep, 2010 05:40 PM I am interested to know how you all feel on how easy society has become (Christians Included) on what we watch on TV and think of as entertainment; and when going out to the movies ... What about the "Rating System." PG and PG13... Do you find that PG13 should really be rated R and PG is almost as close to PG13? Posted : 14 Sep, 2010 08:36 PM Considering what I've seen stuck into PG-13 movies, I think the distinction between PG-13 and R is fairly arbitrary. We would be much smarter to look at movies individually and see what factors went into getting such a rating. Websites like pluggedin.com can be very helpful there. Personally, I would much rather a Christian watch Gladiator than Twilight, even though Gladiator is R. Post Reply

There's a great website that rates movies; it actually lists how many bad words are in it (doesn't actually spell out the words, though), and it gives brief but clean descriptions of how many other "scenes" are in the movies. My family also has a TV Guardian...they don't make them anymore, but it read the closed captioning and mutes the profanity. We've been able to watch a lot of otherwise-unwatchable movies and shows thanks to the TVG and the remote control's fast forward button!!! Basically, without the TVG and remote control, anything with G D or the F word is totally out. Nudity is also out. Sex scenes are out. Even scenes that involve heavy making out might cause me to choose to not watch that movie/show. Blood and gore doesn't bother me too much, as long as it's not horrible or terribly realistic. Personally, I have nothing against movies with magic or fantasy (such as Harry Potter and Twilight), but that's just me...and I wouldn't let a child watch either of those. Post Reply

Posted : 14 Sep, 2010 09:48 PM I'm not really sure what I should think, most movies seem like waste of time, just filling some empty space we have, that probably could be better things to fill it. But its nice though when come across a movie with some religious aspect to it. Like lately saw book of eli, and it was centered around christianity, even though rated r and quite violent at times. But old testament is rated r, so who knows..... Post Reply

Kind of reminds me the guy who is suppose to be a great sword fighter in Princess Bride and he always ... My name is Marcos something something something he states this really long name then states his injustices before he picks up his sword and starts to fight.
